I visited the place with my adult daughter. It was a large area day was pleasant. Some parts were beautiful, but it was overrated. We were handed a map of the trails. We were a bit disappointed as there were no tags or flags indicating the name of different plant species. There was no one around to guide. Different trails... More

Bloedel Reserve is a gem on Bainbridge Island. Located on the north end of the island, it is accessible by the BI Ride bus right from the ferry terminal so no need to bring a car from Seattle. This garden was at one time a private family reserve and is now open to the public to walk through the many... More

I have to say that this Reserve was simply amazing. We took a bus from the jetty and basically immersed ourselves here. Hearing the birds chirping with the flowing water completely rejuvenated us. The 4 hours walk through the Reserve was akin to a massage! Such a stress relief! I would have prefered to l stay on the Island and... More

I have been to Bloedel Reserve three times, most recently in May, and, as always, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The path takes you through the open meadow area past the old barn which, in a late fall visit a couple of years ago, was decorated with hay bales, pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. We then meandered through a natural wooded area with... More

Attention nature lovers. If you live in Seattle or are visiting and the weather is cooperating you cannot miss the Bloedel Reserve. A short ferry ride from Seattle and a quick bus ride from the dock you'll find a small piece of paradise. Afterwards stop at downtown Brainbridge and have lunch!

This May Day adventure was absolutely wonderful. Walking through 150 acres of Douglas Fir woods and more was incredibly refreshing. It's certainly wildflower season now! Be sure to pick up a map at the gift shop so you don't miss special areas. I was so blessed to be taken by someone special who'd been visiting the reserve for decades so... More

On Bainbridge Island for the day, we decided to check out Bloedel Reserve. The Reserve was nice. It was a warm, sunny Saturday when we were there. After paying our admission fee, the docent gave us a map and directions how to get to the start of the trail. It is about 2.5 miles round trip. I think that we... More

I love walking this reserve! The property is beautiful, very well maintained. $15 is a little steep for the price but once you are on the property and see the incredible job they do maintaining the property, it makes sense. Definitely worth a visit.
