This museum is a local gem. Situated not too far from the ferry dock on Bainbridge island (perhaps 5 min if you are a slow walker like me), it is a must-see. It may not have classical pieces but is full of eclectic art from local artists and pride. The docents are very friendly, giving out details and revealing interesting information that adds to the background of the art pieces. It's worth checking out this attraction before you venture further into town. Besides, no one would turn down free admission, right?…

During the summer there are outdoor tables. Finally, they often do hands-on programs, though for young kids you might also want to check out the independent KiddiMu located in a separate building behind BIMA.…

This is a fine small museum with new exhibits regularly. Worth a visit at least monthly! Very convenient to the ferry for walk-offs.
