The fantasy is to come in your motor vessel and hook a floater in the bay, swim or row in to shore and rent a kayak or take a lesson from the park staff. All sites are primitive but the camp hosts will sell you...More

We biked from the town center south, around the sound, and then walked in when we couldn't bike anymore. The spit itself was mostly shadeless spongy peaty vegetation and driftwood logs, but the view of Lopez village was interesting.

Beautiful sand spit, with salt march bay on north side of beach, and driftwood filled beach on south side of beach.

Breath taking views. The park staff are wonderful. They offer sea kayaking. I took the sunset tour. Dan and Lucka were great and extremely kind.

Even in July, this park had so few people in it which made watching the wildlife even more special. Take a picnic and enjoy the sunshine and the quiet.

Interesting but easy walk. Not much to see...just a walk along the spit (beach) through some old weather beaten logs that have washed ashore for probably hundreds of years. Relaxing walk.

We have enjoyed this stunning spot for a few years. It has a great spit you can walk out on and see boats of every variety and the Washington State Ferries making their rounds...fun for beach combing, sand castles and picnicking. There are camping sites...More
