We wanted to go here today to see the snow geese but they were closed. If this happens to you, know that today there were plenty of birds gathered in the fields off Fir Island Road.

By going to this area at certain times of year, there are lots of white birds to enjoy. Did see Trumpeter Swans and snow geese that make such a wonderful noise. It is fun to watch them eat and waddle around.

The Skagit Wildlife area was worth some time to explore, offering several different habitats. We visited in summer, but there were raptors, waders, passarines and lovely views. I especially enjoyed watching the waxwings flit around catching bugs!

We visited here on a cold and blustery day in February. We were thrilled to stand on an earthen berm and watch as thousands of Snowgeese took flight. A great addition to Skagit Valley for wildlife viewing.
