Small museum packed with history. We totally enjoyed the ability to move through the exhibits at our own pace... no lines, no crowds and easy to find a volunteer to ask a question. Easy to find and would recommend to anyone who likes museums and military history.

This is the absolute definition of Naval Flight history on Whidbey Island. This museum outlines the WW2/Korean war era aircraft that were stationed at the still active Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. These flying boats(including a complete aircraft on display) Patroled all over the world. Very cool for the flight enthusiast. Located in old town Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island... More

We visited the museum on a rainy day. Excellent displays, helpful staff and we learned a lot about a plane and it's place in our history.

A very active group of WWII PBY Vets put this together for well over more than a decade. Many of the contributions are from former PBY'ers. Anyone interested in this important part of USN history will find it informative. I'm hoping they'll finish restoring the PBY parked directly across the street and allow people a close-up view, if not a... More

I was hoping for a museum on base for Whidbey Island...But this turned out great. Nice building...A PBY is in a lot across the street but was getting some work done on it...The lady at the counter was great and talked me into watching their movie which was informative.. Not a large building, but plenty of displays to look at.... More

This little museum is a growing labor of love, and was a definite must see for this Navy vet. I will be interested to see more growth of the display for the Cold War Era, as that section was pretty sparse.

This little museum is well worth the visit if you are interested in WWII history. Run by knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers, it gives a comprehensive history of both the town of Oak Harbor and its role in the development and use of the amazing, versatile PBY "Flying Boats." Films, artifacts, photos, uniforms, and if you're lucky, an honest-to-goodness WWII vet... More
