Constantly changing biospheres as you walk the four miles around Mountain Lake, part way up the mountain. Vivid, gorgeous mosses, islands, reeds, conifers, shifting light.

A wonderful place to walk dogs around the lake and the views are spectacular. Even in the winter it was lovely and a well maintained trail.

This is one of the most beautiful state parks I have ever been too. So many things to see and do. The campgrounds are really nice and have showers. Several easy family-friendly hikes not far from the campground. You can go swimming, rent boats on...More

I've been going to Orcas island from time to time, mostly in the summers from Seattle where I live since the late 1990's. Moran is a gem within a gem (don't tell anyone). Good camping if you can get a site. I know families who...More

Enjoyed hiking around the lake. Trail is in excellent shape and it is basically level. Parking is available right at trail head and you need a forest pass which you can buy just as you enter the Moran state park.

Absolutely stunning views, whether you opt for lake views or hike views. There's a lot to offer and it doesn't take too much effort- if thats your thing. Easy nature=)

I agree with all the reviews. This is just about a must-visit attraction if you have time and like the outdoors and/or want the best views on the island. The cascade waterfall trail is fairly easy but parking is very limited. The observation tower has...More

Orcas is not a big place--if you come, you should not skip the main attraction: Moran State Park. We drove to the top of Mount Constitution twice and experienced it differently each time (the view was different as the weather changed). The observation tower is...More

Depends on if one is walking on the road or trail. Are we talking about Mount Constitution? That trail is extremely steep in portions so you have to take it slow and hiking poles would be a good idea. Trail shoes clearly... More

Only went to Moran SP, if you plan on hiking. Plan at least a day visit, other wise 1/2 day if you will not be doing any hiking. If you plan on camping I think you can make reservations. Do that ASAP.
