We spent a day on Orcas Island and were worried that we'd quickly run out of activities to do, but Moran State Park gobbled up all of our time and I wish we had more to explore further. Some highlights were the view from the summit and the cluster of waterfalls. Just make sure to bring some food into the... More

This is a great sunny day activity. We drove up there right after it rained, we drove up to Mt. Constitution. The drive had a very ominous feeling, climbing higher and higher and it was getting very hard to see the road. Great places to hike and the lakes are serene.

Moran State Park has it all - deep, old growth forests, mountain lakes, swimming beaches, miles of trails, and 360 views of the San Juan Islands from atop of medieval keep straight out of Middle Earth. Just make sure your brakes are in good shape before tackling Mt. Constitution!

The hikes are lovely. We saw a boat launch as well. Guessing there is much more to explore. We were lucky, the park was pretty much deserted and the weather was good. Perfect.

Wow... so beautiful indeed. Drive directly from the ferry terminal. This island has east and west. The park is by the east part of the island. Enjoy recreational activities by the cascade lakes, camping, hiking, bicycling etc...drive up to Mt Constitution to see the surrounding islands. View is spectacular. Beware the gate closes by sunset and lots of clouds. The... More

This state park has it all: campsites along the lakes, canoes and kayaks to rent, ice cream stands, hiking trails, and the perk of being on Orcas Island. This park is our go to each summer and we truly look forward to our quiet time here very much!

Beautiful park w 38 miles of trails ranging from relatively easy to straight up burly as you travel up, down, and around 2400' peaks and below... many beautiful lakes... Waterfalls, birds, small black-tailed deal abound. Get your discovery pass and go!

We stayed several days on Orcas and took day hikes at Moran State Park each day. The Cascade Lake Loop is quite level, with different views of the lakes. Lots of waterfowl. The Mountain Lake hike was about 5 miles round-trip. There was a thin layer of ice, which was quite pretty.

I come here a lot, it's amazing!! There are many gorgeous lakes to explore, with some of the main ones being Cascade and Mountain, and some less-heard-of and still as beautiful being Twin lakes, Summit lake and Secret lake. The trails are always clean, the beach and swim area are safe and nice and the staff are amazing and super... More
