Breathtaking Stairs at Ann Starrett Mansion

Enjoyed our one night stay at the Ann Starrett Mansion last September. We had the Drawing Room, on the Second Floor. A free-standing tub was featured in the room. All the other... read more

I saw the earlier reviews and went anyway. If you think you can walk into history and have it be perfect then you will not like this place. But if you want to stay in a beautiful property that is true to its history, has a history, want to sit at the head of a table and act like it... More

We booked this place the morning before we arrived. It looked cool on the thumbnail image and was priced well so we went for it and it was the best decision we made the whole trip. The innkeeper was very informative and pleasant. We stayed in the master bedroom and it was like we got to go back in time.... More

This isn't really a tourist attraction, it's just a hotel. Not a bed and breakfast, just a place to sleep. Asked if we could see one of the empty rooms and were told no, no tours allowed. I wouldn't want to spend the money to stay here when there's no breakfast provided.

I was so blessed to visit twice and stay in two different rooms. I loved the suite at the top of the house--two bedrooms and a most wonderful view of Puget Sound. A great memory.

Enjoyed our one night stay at the Ann Starrett Mansion last September. We had the Drawing Room, on the Second Floor. A free-standing tub was featured in the room. All the other furniture was era-appropriate. Be advised, if you are afraid of heights use the back stairs (as I did), the unique "free-floating", curving main stairway is truly breathtaking! Truly... The Ann Starrett Mansion is on the National Historic Register. It was purchased by its current owner in the 1980s. The architecture is lovely and the decor is very period. Richard, who is the host, is a true sweetheart. He had maps of the town's eateries and has tremendous knowledge not about the mansion, but the community. The only reason... More

Came for a Christmas tour and enjoyed the fine ladies all dressed up in period costumes. Wanted to take interior photos to share with friends and family, but was told that photos were not to be taken. (We give a guided tour of a beautiful 1890 home is Astoria, OR and encourage photos.) People have been taking them for years... More

This is a beautiful Victorian Bed & Breakfast. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The breakfast is wonderful. It is a very romantic location. The only room I did not like as much as the others is the attic room with the jacuzzi.

If you like the Queen Ann Victorian period this is a must see. It's the crown jewel of the many great Victorian homes around Port Townsend. The house is for sale and operates as a B&B. I wasn't able to get in for a tour. I would suggest that you Google the house to get an idea of the uniqueness... More
