Wow, is all I can say about this park. From an amazing rose garden to the zoo/aquarium, to stunning vistas and extensive hiking trails, to Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, you could easily spend all day here. Perfect for any outing, do it!

This is an awesome park for recreational activities including hiking, biking and views of the Puget Sound. We saw Orca Whales from one of the view points.

I went to this "Zoo" the only good thing about it was the weather...alot of empty pens and over priced food

We did a drive through of the beautiful park. Everything was so green & beautiful. There were many signs to not feed the raccoons, but it was obvious that they get fed a lot. There were raccoons everywhere, even saw a couple deer.

Did a quick driving tour of this magnificent park. Plenty of great views, walking paths, wild life and greenery. Picnic spots are plenty, and views of the water are great.

Point Defiance, on the northern end of Tacoma, is a large city park with great places to picnic or just amble around. The ferry leaves here about every half hour for Vashon Island, a brief but fun crossing. Close to lots of good restaurants along...More

Seasoned hiker or just starting with young children, you'll find a great trail to walk, run, or bike. Muddy rainy days, bring boots and lose yourselves in the old growth of the Pacific NW. You'll cross paths with deer, raccoons, and squirrels.

Hey, does anyone know anything about the red foxes at Point Defiance Park? I have seen arctic foxes there (at least at the zoo), but never seen a red fox through there (even on the 5 mile drive). I have raccoons and deer, but am curious to see where all of the red fox sightings are and how to go about seeing them. Has anyone else had a sighting of the red foxes at Point Defiance (besides the arctic foxes at the zoo)

Historically, we have had red foxes living in the park, but regulars have said there have been fewer sightings in recent years. They are extremely elusive, nocturnal animals. There are no particular locations in the park... More
