Long trail amidst greenery and along the water body and Tumwater falls. Very pleasant surroundings and beautiful scenery.

Okay, so I was not keen on going on a walk in the middle of a city to see a dirty river and garbage. Boy, were my expectations WAY off! This is a gorgeous piece of nature near an old industrial park. We quickly forgot that the I-5 freeway was a few hundred yards away, and the bustle of manic city life melted away as we were enthralled by this place! The waterfalls, rushing river, and vegetation was simply beautiful and I kicked myself for leaving my Nikon camera behind. The atmosphere of this beautiful little paradise seemed to affect everyone there was no one yelling or running or being loud. Everyone seemed to be taken in by such a place. That such a peaceful, clean place could even exist in the midst of bustling industry surprised me, and gave me hope that such stewardship might infect other cities. I left feeling quite happy with our visit and will certainly return with my camera equipment at the ready.

I would guess we came at the worst time of year - winter - and it was still impressive. Soggy grass from the rain, a substantial part of the infrastructure is under construction so it will undoubtedly be much nicer in the spring. There are two entrances to the park evidently, and the one off the main road which normally I think is an exit is the way to go to get to the falls and the bridges. The bridges are amazing as is the salmon ladder you can walk over and look down.

A great place for a walk to enjoy local scenery by the river. Great place to take photos too. Family and dog friendly. After your walk you can let the kids play on the park toys. In nice weather it’s lovely to have a picnic or you can go to lunch at the Falls Terrace Restaurant.

Nice park for a stroll watching the water falls, nothing to spend lot of time for but a perfect place to stretch your legs for 45 min if you happen to be in the area
