About
Audra State Park is a heavily wooded area bisected by the Middle Fork River located in southwestern Barbour County and a portion of Upshur County. Each year, visitors are drawn to the natural beauty of the Middle Fork and its surroundings, which offers opportunities for hiking, camping and family picnics. This park is an ideal destination for families who enjoy the outdoors. The clear, clean water of the Middle Fork River and the rock overhang of the Alum Cave offer picture-perfect backdrops.

The Alum Cave Trail was a nice hike....
Oct 2020
The Alum Cave Trail was a nice hike but the park needs much better signage. Several people were looking for this particular trail, and were it not for some helpful young men in the parking lot, at least four groups would not have known where to find it. It was beautiful with the leaves changing. Make sure to take the time to walk down to the swimming area, even if you don't plan on swimming because the views are beautiful.

Went to try some fishing. No help around to direct or answer any question. Lots of picnic tables, it much else. Never could find any accessible water to fish.

Very unique park. The River was low and clear so lot people were enjoying the water. Has many good spots to enter water. Trail along river is really cool. There needs to be better signs into the park and in the park. Distance of trails would be helpful as well. Otherwise great.

Beautiful Hike.
Jun 2020
We hiked the trail to the caverns. We took the upper route and came down and returned through the caverns. It was a hot day and the river sure looked inviting. It looked like a nice clean river. There were folks swimming in it. We did not make use of the camping area but it did look like a nice place to stay. Will be back again. Swimming is an "enter the river at your own risk".

Weekend getaway

We stayed at site #4. Great view of the river, cozy space for tents and cars. The sites in the section we stayed were spaced out well for privacy but some looked closer to each other closer to the office. The campground staff were friendly and helpful. Bathhouse and camp office is a short walk. Clean, good water pressure, plenty of hot water but nothing fancy. The Alum Cave trail was pretty cool however further into the woods it wasn’t well maintained so bring good hiking shoes.

Arrived with no reservation...however, Tyler and the ladies went out of their way for us...found us a great tent site and made us feel very welcome. Do yourself a favor, visit Audra State Park! Wild and wonderful!

Beautiful park but have your GPS with you if you want to get off the road! Going here in the winter is iffy but it is a beautiful ride! If my wife wasn't so attached to the Hilton Hotel atmosphere of vacationing this would be a great place to camp for a week!

Great bathing area

We were driving through from Blackwater Falls State Park and headed to Buckhannon. The park is located down a long winding road. It is a very small park but had beautiful campsite along the river. It also had a great swim area surrounded by enormous boulders.
