In the 70s, before the mall came to town, this was the place to be in Charleston. For years, it was run-down and desolate. Since the 90s, Capitol Street has bounced back and is the place to be again! Ellen's Ice Cream, Taylor Books, The...More

Been here several times. Its a farmers market selling everything from pumpkins to tomatoes. Also along side it is an old refurbished building with many interesting things inside. Couple nice restaurants plus meat market, fish market an other things.

Visiting Capitol Street is a must if in downtown Charleston; bars, restaurants, and shops abound here. Most are worth visiting on their own merits; having everything in a couple-block area makes for a very walkable evening or afternoon!

Had a great time browsing all the restaurants and stores on Capitol Street. If you haven't been here in a while, you need to come back. It is great! Plenty of variety and the food is great.

Capitol Street, an easy walk from the riverfront, is a lively location. There are a few shops (many were closed Sunday and Monday when we visited), many restaurants and the market. It was a fun way to spend a couple hours and we ate here...More

Yes. I believe all public places must be wheel chair accessible (I think it's a law there).
