We were on vacation to see the Biltmore in North Carolina so drove out of our way to visit this park. We had seen so many photos of it over the years. It was a very brisk December day which meant we had the place to ourselves. It was beautiful! We got some great photos of the mill. It was... More

We went to Babcock State Park with friends from the area on a cold Sunday around noon. It had been snowing a bit overnight. The Office/Gift shop was closed but the park was open. Roads were icy and we were the only ones in the park. It was kind of eerie but was so peaceful and quiet. I would recommend... More

I stayed in cabin #27 for two nights during the third week in October. I stayed here because I wanted easy access to the Grist Mill for photography. It was an economy cabin, so I didn't have high expectations. But a basic, and I think reasonable, expectation is that the shower be clean. It most definitely wasn't. It was dirty... More

With the grist mill and the mountain overlooks, this park was a great place to take photos. The sunset from the top was beautiful and the grist mill is famous...so of course I wanted photos of it. Would have liked for the water to have been higher so it went over the wheel, but still a good scene to photo.

Loved cabin #19 - 2 bdrm cabin, only 1 or 2 steps needed to get to it, kitchen with appliances, bathroom w/shower and hot water. If staying during cold temperatures you may want an electric blanket. Loved the fireplace. Cabins 7-13 are off a very narrow 1 lane road w/ 2 way traffic (difficult to maneuver). Loved the swinging bridge between... More

Stayed here two nights while going to Bridge Day. Hiked one day on two trails. Very nice The Lake View Trail around Boley Lake was scenic and moderately easy. The Island in the Sky Trail was even more scenic, but was moderately difficult with some climbing required and steep drop offs if you got off the path. The Grist Mill... More

Quaint little cabin. No heat in the cabin that we stayed in. Heat by fireplace only. Everything you need to stay in the cabin is there. Windy roads and hair pin turns but beautiful park. The Glad Creek Grist Mill is a sight to see. Oh and if anyone has vertigo please be sure to take something before traveling into... More

This is actually a review of the Economy Cabin my three adult sons and I shared in this state park while camping and enjoying other outdoor activities near this site. Simply stated, we had a great time and the "economy cabin" with its shower, bathroom, kitchen, and four bunks was more than adequate for our "roughing it" weekend. The screened... More

We stopped by on the way to VA and it was amazing. The scenery was beautiful!! Gift shop was reasonably priced and had a lot more than I expected to chose from. Drove up to the lake and it was very peaceful. Would love to stay at the cabins sometime.

This park is over 4100 acres of beauty. We didn't have time to see everything but we did see the grist mill, hiked a little bit until the trails became too wet and slick, and spent some time just enjoying the views of the river from the stone decking/walls/stairs next to the visitors center. After reading up on it I... More
