We spent a few days in the Marlinton area and did a bit of a walkabout. While out, we were attracted to the bright yellow rail depot. Upon entering, we found an attractive, quaint curios shop filled with a variety of neat little collectables. We...More

We stopped by and found some local crafts. The assortment was amazing for such a small shop. The talent in Marlinton is a true gift to the community.

We stopped at the depot and looked around. It was closed so we didn't get to go inside. It's really nice and clean on the outside. Wish we could have seen inside also.

Quaint railroad mountain town crossroads beside the Greenbrier River. Enjoy dining at the riverside restaurant which serves great fish. Enjoy watching wild ducks by the river while dining on the deck. Vintage town offers a good value-priced base when skiing at Snowshoe.

A community effort, rebuilding after a fire. Good for photos when we saw it, will be better when it's finished. The main building, a few yards of track, a couple of cars, all well done and worth the side trip from the main road (about...More

We always stop there. The ladies were so charming and knowledgeable. The depot was perfectly renovated and we enjoyed it every time we went to Marlinton. Then the fire happened. So sad. But so hope progress is being made on its restoration again.
