Great views

Wonderful walk, beautiful views peaceful setting. Just consider, thinner air and any breathing problems, my husband went clear up to the lookout, while I had to turn back.

They have a visitor's center for the park. You can buy souvenirs and look out at Seneca Rocks. Also you can climb Seneca Rocks. They have a path that winds up to the top of the rocks and have a overlook platform looking out and down. It will take a while to make it up to the top, they have... More

We drove into West Virginia coming from Northern Virginia so the drive very beautiful and interesting. Just very mountainous. When you finally get to the Seneca area, it's quite beautiful as well. We parked, took some photos, and went over to the visitors center (I believe this one is run by Fish and Wildlife Services, but definitely no the National... More

You get more out of the park if you take the time to go to the summit. To view the rocks from the road level is nice but the view is so much better at the top. We took a horseback ride to the top and that was amazing. The last part of the leg you do have to walk... More

Visited in July 2016 and we climbed to the top of Seneca. This is a great park with lots of parking and the mountain is awesome! I didn't hike to the top since we climbed but I have heard that it is good too! I highly recommend checking this park out if you are in the area because there are... More

I won't lie and say the 1.3 mile hike up to the observation deck is easy, but it is well worth it! Take a bottle of water and take your time and the view is be breathtaking! I recommend it to any adventurer or outdoor people!

A good hike but not overly strenuous to a beautiful look out. The path is well maintained and the views are more than worth the effort to get up the mountain.

We were on a hiking trip and one of our stops was Seneca Rocks. The trail was well maintained but was a long walk up to the stairs to view the rocks. There were switchbacks so you weren't hiking 1.5 miles straight up. Stop at the info center and use the facilities prior to the climb and take water. The... More

It was definitely worth driving from Blackwater Falls State Park to experience this location. If you are not in somewhat decent shape, expect the hike to take a while. The sign at the beginning is fairly accurate regarding the distance and elevation change. If you want to be brave, and see what the other curiosity seekers were viewing from above... More
