A good hike but not overly strenuous to a beautiful look out. The path is well maintained and the views are more than worth the effort to get up the mountain.

We were on a hiking trip and one of our stops was Seneca Rocks. The trail was well maintained but was a long walk up to the stairs to view the rocks. There were switchbacks so you weren't hiking 1.5 miles straight up. Stop at the info center and use the facilities prior to the climb and take water. The... More

It was definitely worth driving from Blackwater Falls State Park to experience this location. If you are not in somewhat decent shape, expect the hike to take a while. The sign at the beginning is fairly accurate regarding the distance and elevation change. If you want to be brave, and see what the other curiosity seekers were viewing from above... More

This is quite a spectacular area but don't plan on a walk being easy if you want to go up, up, up. We didn't make it to the overlook, but had plenty of great views along the way. Also be sure to visit the visitors center.

The fall hours are posted for visitor's center but door was locked and center not open. No cellular service to look for a map so we took couple pics and left.

Visited there late one afternoon so the visitor centre was closed. The landscape here and the drive from Petersburg are quite stunning. The park scenery right by the visitor centre is spectacular and the river is so peaceful. Liked the look of the old motel cum grocery store cum bar at the junction nearby. It's obviously GOP country as there... More

A nice wide switchback trail free of rocks, roots, and trash leads up to an excellent observation deck facing North West. I had to take a few brakes hiking up, but the view was well worth it. Next, climbing the rocks was a little scary for someone as inexperienced as myself, but if I can do it, I'm sure it... More

We were passing through after a weekend in Davis and didn't have time to hike, so we decided to check out the visitor's center instead. It was fantastic! They have an educational center, fantastic ample and comfortable seating (indoors and outdoors) for breathtaking views, lots of educational sets to inform visitors on the history, geography, and recreation of the area....
