Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

this small church we found on one of the side streets as we were walking. Building seemed to be leaning or maybe just my imagination?

Please avoid this church at all costs. The pastor has lied directly to our face and told us we weren’t welcome to come to the shop or the church because someone had made a police report that we had been involved in some sort of altercation. Upon going to the police station, we learned that there was never a police report filed and the pastor admitted he lied. Absolutely awful experience- especially for a church and pastor. He later apologized and recanted his statement and said we could come to the shop/church. We have never been treated so poorly by an individual or been discriminated against so openly. I would warn everyone to stay far away from such a discriminatory institution,

This is a delightful campus in the heart of Shepherdstown, showing how a church can be such a vital part of the community both then and now.

We walked past this church a few times from our B&B and finally stopped in as it was "open for prayer". Very beautiful church that has been well taken care of and kept up. Worth a peek!

Very beautiful - large landscaped grounds, a charming "thrift shop" with terrific bargains, a beautiful chapel -

Very serene and peaceful setting - feels like you in another "time" zone.

Highly recommended!!!!

According to the website, The Trinity Church was the first English Church in Shepherdstown (was built around 1739). It is located at the main street (West German St.) at the top of the hill. We just spent a little time walking around the Church and had a little peek into the main Chapel (front door is not lock so visitors can see inside through the glass door. If you visit the historic Shepherdstown old town area, it is worth your time to stop by to visit this historic landmark of the town.
