After many years of offering youngsters and adults a place to see a wide variety of exotic wildlife from other parts of the world, and perhaps have lunch, a picnic, or a snack in their small lunch area beside this mountain backroad, the Perry Wildlife Zoo closed a couple years ago and all the animals were transferred elsewhere. It is... More

the zoo is closed! Has been for about a year. There is no date as to when it may open again but I think it is permanent.

They could have more signs telling you where to go, which direction and how many miles. We drove for about 5 miles on a back road, thinking we were lost but kept driving anyways and there it was in the middle of no where..... also they could use more animals.

Excellent little zoo in the middle of nowhere. I know that some people may find it unacceptable to have baby lions and tigers on display for photographs, but the animals were born into captivity in the first place, and I believe that human interaction benefits them.

had a nice variety of animals - some you could feed peanuts that you buy when getting your tickets - our girls favorite was the baby tiger - though if you wanted your picture taken with it (or a baby kangaroo) it was expensive. Only took about 1 to 1.5 hours to see.

There is always a few new animals and some "old-friends" on hand to delight children of all ages (even us sixty-somethings). The highlight of this trip was a young grizzly bear named Bruno who was getting a good hosing down on a fairly... More
