For a small fee there is a tour offered which makes this a fun stop. The tour is part self-guided and partially led by a guide. The mill is actually put in operation for you, so you get a good feel for the system and how it works. The tour also offers the chance to see the Blacksmith at work.... More

The first part of the tour is self guided as you explore the two old homes on site. Then you make your way... More

Very cool place. Tour the grist mill and wood mill. Also a couple relocated Era cabins. Worth the look if your in the area. But wouldn't go too far far out of your way.

Rich in history, Stonewall Jackson's boyhood home should be on any history buff's list of places to check out. The house itself is no longer standing, but you can see a real mill in action, learn about the blacksmith and milling.
