Now to be missed treasure

Fabulous home that is being transformed into a Bed and Breakfast in the future. We stopped in for a tour and Kim, our guide, took us on a wonderful journey through this fabulous home which has stood the test of time. In addition to the home there is a fabulous collection of Ringling memorabilia. You just have to see the home and hear the stories of this wonderful collection. Definitely coming back when it becomes a Bed and Breakfast.

worth a visit

Be advised tours start at the main house entrance, not in the bar as their website states. They need to add some clarification.
Home is filled with amazing stained glass windows and built in cabinet fronts, over 60 of them. Also, lots of gold leaf trim. Very ornate. Conservatory room on staircase is SO beautiful! History of the home is very interesting, I think guide could have told stories all day.
In back, the former ballroom has been turned into a bar featuring Ringling's beer recipe. Wish we could have tried it, but they were closed the day we were there. Tabletops are made from the lanes of the former bowling alley. If in town again will stop by.

What a mansion
Aug 2021
Walked around outside.. Had seen old photos of place being built. Al Ringling only brother to stay in Baraboo, his hometown. Built theater in town which is still in use. Such circus history in this town. Amazing.

A perfect add on after the Circus Museum!
I have a soft spot for architecture from 1900–1930, and the Al Ringling Mansion did not disappoint. Joe (the owner occupant) and guide Lindsey (I believe) were so accommodating and informative. The house itself was a fantastic combination of 1906 architecture and flourishes, combined with great personal items from the Ringling and Barnum families.
The house is under constant renovation, so we were told that our admission helps maintain and restore the house and it’s collections. We felt it was money and time well spent. Oh, and there is a brewery on site (limited hours so call to see if they are open) serving beer sourced from an old Ringling recipe discovered during renovation. Plus they have a haunted tour, so it may be haunted. History. Beer. Haunting. Yep, worth it!

We will be back…
We visited for the second time to see the updates to the restoration. They are doing a wonderful job preserving an important part of Wisconsin’s History. It’s beautiful. Freida our tour guide did a fantastic job and her passion for the Ringling family and home is evident in her tour. We discovered the Brewery as well. My husband loved the historic original Ringling beer and the food was delicious. The staff was phenomenal and friendly. We loved the Polka Band on Friday night. We can’t wait to visit again.

Interesting History with Pub
Oct 2020
The front is the mansion with a tour, didn't know Ringlings history was really interesting. The back is the pub/bar, with great, beer and wine. Really good prices, the big pretzel was awesome - Never had one like it made from the grain the beer is brewed. The owner was the bartender and enjoyable to talk to you. Must see/ stop by and and have a beer.

Walked around the outside and really admired the incredible architecture. Took a peak inside the bar as well! The house was not open but worth it to look at the outside.

Interesting Mansion
Sep 2020 • Couples
A great tour that fills you in on the Ringling’s Circus history. The mansion is wonderful, but there is a lot of construction. But even with that, we throughly enjoyed the tour and information. Brand new Bed & Breakfast, along with a beer garden opening in lat September.

This place is amazing. Visit after August when the Brewery is open. It will eventually be a Bed and Breakfast and we will definitely visit. It is owned by a family that was connected to the Ringling's, and there are many Ringling artifacts. It is still under some construction, but it doesn't interfere with tours.

A real treasure
Jul 2019
Take a guided tour of the beautiful, stately home of one of the famous Ringling Brothers, Al Ringling. Portions of the mansion are being renovated into a Bed & Breakfast, and the former ballroom is being converted to a brew pub which will feature the Ringling Family beer recipe that was found during renovations.
