The museum offers award-winning exhibits, beautifully preserved historic structures on the grounds, fun activities, a 1950's ice cream parlor, a museum store, and more. A visitor favorite is the multi-media object theater "This Day." The Chippewa Valley Museum sits beneath towering pines in Eau Claire's beautiful Carson Park, a 134-acre peninsula nestled inside horseshoe-shaped Half Moon Lake. The Chippewa Valley Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.

I loved visiting the chippewa valley museum. Its mostly run by volunteers and they do a great job! I has some great history about Eau Claire and the surrounding areas.

This museum is chock full of history displayed in interesting and engaging exhibits. It's great for history buffs but also those with kids or limited attention spans.

They are always hosting something new! My daughter did a late night there, we loved the old fashioned 4th of July activities, Christmas is spectacular and more and more. Very well laid out and definitely appeals to kids. Does need some more rotating exhibits though...More

A lot of children come here on field trips. Learn about the Ojibwe Indians, local wildlife, early settlers, farming, town life & stores,lots of hands on things for children, a sweet old fashioned ice cream parlor to eat a treat, a little gift shop, etc.
