We happened upon this while traveling over Thanksgiving weekend and thought it would be a huge cheese shop. Most of it was wine, beer, misc dry goods, and souvenirs. We at at the restaurant there which is why I only have it 2 stars. My reuben sandwhich could not have been thinner- not worth 7.99. The better location is the... More

Of course it's "touristy" but that's all part of the fun. We were in Illinois and wanted to step our toes into Wisconsin specifically for home-grown cheese. Mars Cheese Castle and the sweet town of Kenosha was the perfect not-too-far place to stop. You could smell hot cheese from the parking lot and, no, I'm not kidding! The castle made... More

The Cheese Castle specializes in things Wisconsin. They have cheeses, beer, wine, a bakery, a food counter and a bar. It is basically a store and they have tastings for various items. It is a fun stop and you never know when you will find something you like. Worth a stop.

I first visited here a couple of years ago and I found myself here again on business so thought I'd drop in again. Inside the old looking castle, there is quite an eclectic mix of produce, from beer and drinks to cheese and delicatessen items. The little cafe makes an ideal place to take a break if you're driving through.... More

The outside is shaped like a castle and is easy to get to off the highway. They had all kinds of cheese to choose from but even more wines and beers. They have a huge variety of novelty beers and wines I had never seen before. There is also a restaurant in the castle and a bakery. We tried the... More

Do you want cheese, cheeses and more cheese? This is the place to go! My wife and I took a quick weekend trip to Wisconsin from Illinois and had to stop. Not only do they have so many types of cheese and samples to boot, they have a bakery, beer (had to get my Spotted Cow) & spirits, including anything... More

Decided to go to lunch and do a little shopping. Lunch was good, the store is really neat. All the little gift shop specialties and upscale items you would find in your tourist type shops. The bar is nice sized with very friendly bartenders.

The view of the castle from the highway is enticing enough. Who can't resist a cheese castle? This tourist spot is full of fun, unique gifts, a huge selection of cheese, a bakery, lots of beers and snacks with crazy names. This breaks up a trip and gives you a chance to walk around and maybe buy a few things.... More
