My wife and I went to see this shrine inside for the first time. I had seen the outside once when it was being built roughy ten years ago. It is a significant treasure in the LaCrosse area for anyone who is Christian and particularly for those who are Catholics. It has several relics of saints and is dedicated to... More

The shrine is lovely and if you are Catholic and wish to make a pilgrimage to do the way of the cross or rosary walks it is a good destination. The brothers that are associated with the shrine offer masses in the main chapel that are old style Latin masses. I was disappointed to learn that it is only 10... More

As a practicing Catholic, it adds a special spiritual component to the visit to the area. Going to confession and Mass was awesome. Don't miss out!

A beautiful Catholic shrine not very far from La Crosse. It's hours of operation are perhaps a little limiting. The staff are helpful and the church itself is a jewel of classical Roman architecture. While dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the side altars are dedicated to saints of the 20th century forming a unique place for prayer and devotion.

This was a very unexpected treat on our trip to Lacrosse. The reviews online do not do it justice, as the buildings are unbelievably beautiful. If you visit, go on a good weather day, as the walk up to the church is quite a ways and would be uncomfortable during inclement weather. Also, there is a restaurant in The Visitor... More

When we were moving to La Crosse we were told to be sure to catch the shrine. Its a bit of a walk up but well worth it. The Chapel, the Stations of the Cross and other statuary create a contemplative experience. For those unable to walk up the hill - a bit strenuous, a golf-cart "bus" service is available.

This shrine is beautiful. Check schedule and arrange to attend Mass while here. The 1/3 mile walk up the paved trail to the church was a beautiful path, offered nice views of the city area and beyond. Many holy places to ponder and pray here.
