About
On any given day you can find fun at Northleaf Winery! Complimentary tasting, share a bottle of wine and a cheese tray, try our unique wine and chocolate pairings, paint a wine glass or a wine bottle, or just hang out with us in the tasting room or on the deck. Northleaf Winery is a small, urban, family winery. All wines are made on site in craft batches, from grapes grown coast to coast. The tasting room is in an 1850 building on the National Registry of Historic Places. We give tours of the winery by reservation, and have a free video tour in the tasting room. We have a Bistro & Market next door with a huge deck for outdoor eating and music events, and fondue dinners the last Saturday of each month. A spacious and luxurious Guest House sits above the Bistro for a great getaway for you and your special someone.

Friendly staff

The wine slushees were amazing! The staff was very friendly and the wine tasting was effective as we left with two bottles of wine. Staff did a good job of telling us about other events that were coming up as well, like live music. Will definitely be back!

We were in town just on a drive and happened upon this winery. Very generous tasting and staff was very friendly. Great cheese and sausage platter. Wine was tasty. We will be back

Wonderful Winery! That's more like your friendly neighborhood wine bar.

We just visited this great place for the second time. Midweek, nice weather, good day for a 40+ mile run in the Corvette for some R&R with wine included. We first visited on a weekend and while the winery was crowded, we still enjoyed our sampling and brought home a half case of wine. Yum! When we arrived in mid-afternoon, there were a couple of ladies already at the bar waiting for the rest of their party and Jaimie, the manager, asked us if we'd like to do a tasting, "No", we said, "we're here to drink wine, not just taste it" We really only intended to have some wine and then head off for a light dinner elsewhere. We ordered up a couple of their appetizers (cheese & pretzels and chips and salsa) and, as they say, so much for a light repast. Both portions were huge AND delicious. Next time the cheese and sausage platter alone and if still hungry, we'll think about it! ;) Jaimie seemed to know most of the rest of the patrons as they came in (clue: They removed their wine glasses as they entered) but she still kept an eye on us and never bothered us until our glasses were down to the last sip and would then inquire if she could get us something else. Strangely enough, the answer was always "Yes!" ;) The wines are really quite good and very reasonably priced (as are the appetizers). The building dates back to the mid-1800's and is beautiful while being updated to its current purpose. If we were close enough by we'd quickly become regulars and purchase their wine glasses as they were size of small fish bowls and Jaime really did a nice pour into them. Needless to say, we'll be back. Have another couple that also enjoy trips to wineries and they shall be our guests in the next month or so.

We were traveling to Madison from Illinois. We had a little extra time so we detoured to Milton to check out this winery. Sure glad we did. We really enjoyed the wines and such a cute building with lots of history. Check it out!!

Nice Wisconsin Winery Ambiance.

We all enjoyed the cute decor and reading the wine and beer related signs. The wine was enjoyable. Unfortunately, I must admit the service was indifferent. Since we believe the patter is an important part of a wine tasting, we left disappointed. If you don’t expect patter, then your experience would be better.

Hi SkipperBill2. Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the service you received yesterday. Every party is different, and we've found that a lot of people prefer to relax and explore the wines on their own. However, our servers are trained to express to every customer that if there is something else they would like from us, to please let us know. We can patter with the best of them! if only you expressed to them your desire for that. I hope that you might be inclined give us another try and tell us how you'd like the tasting to go : )

Great place!

Two of my friends and I go here on Wednesday’s (or, as we call them, Winesdays) while our kids are in youth group. Jamie is usually our bartender and is amazing. We purchased wine glasses, told her a little about ourselves, and then she did an awesome job painting them. Now they stay at the winery and are our own personal glasses. Love this place!

Thanks Heather! Always great to have you here on Winesdays. But what is it we're neglecting to do that is making this a 4-star rating instead of a 5?

I have been there many times now. Once we had 12 ladies with us. Other times it was just my spouse & I. The different kinds of cheese on their cheese tray is my favorite, I recommend trying it. Also we have been buying cases of wine from them because it is delicious! I love the peach wine, but I also love multiple red wines, they are sweet. The atmosphere is nice and everyone was friendly. I bought a spice pack last time that for making your own mulled wine. I did it right in the crockpot, it was delicious. Compared to other wineries I have been to, their prices are very competitive. Everything is pretty inexpensive.

Wine tasting
Jan 2018 • Friends
We arrived on a very busy Saturday afternoon, and were able to get a table after about 15 minutes. Beautiful spot to sit and do some tastings! Manu wine varieties to sample. They offer samples, and flights of half glasses. We ordered differing sizes, but when they arrived, they were all the same amount. They offer sharing sizes of breads, cheeses, and dipping choices. Nice way to spend an afternoon!

Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for the nice review! Just one word about the sizes... if you ordered tastes, flights, glasses, they all should have been different... tastes are an ounce, flights are half glasses and a glass is, well, a full glass! So if more than one of these were the same, it must have been a mistake. Did you mention this to your server? Gail

Love tasting here, but it's a bit too bright most of the time. The Apple Reisling and Cranberry Shiraz are lovely.

Wine and chocolate pairings!
Oct 2017 • Couples
North leaf winery was a newly discovered destination for us. We joined one of our daughters and her boyfriend in the Kettle Moraine area. We had bid and won a gift certificate for North leaf Winery and took advantage of the opportunity to spend the afternoon enjoying their wonderful wines and handmade chocolates. Our wine hostess, Devin, knew her stuff and gave great attention to our experience. I will recommend to friends North leaf winery And the wine.chocolate experience!
