My husband and I got married in August of 2007 at the Art Museum. The staff was incredible and the venue was perfection. The weather on the day we had our wedding was hit or miss and there was a lot of moving in then out then in then out again to stay out of the rain. The staff was... More

I was bowled over by the design of the building, the quality of the art on display and the fact that they have somehow managed to dispense with the bored security guard in each room

It was our first trip to Milwaukee and visiting art museum was the must. The building by itself is great architectural art object. We observed wings folding and unfolding. Open floors and numerous staircases and elevators made transitioning from one exposition to another very simple. Superior representation of German art. Staff was very friendly and knowlageble.

.. so our trip was a good value. But, the museum itself was somewhat underwhelming. Glad we had a chance to do a walkthrough but probably won't return.

The art is nice, but the architecture of this building is amazing. Calatrava's dramatic bio-inspired architecture is a piece of it in and of itself. Don't miss the old portion of the museum and the Milwaukee War Memorial - mid-century masterpieces. And then there's the art, which is pretty spectacular as well.

You will always enjoy yourself at the Milwaukee Art Museum. They host magnificent shows of all kinds all year, in addition to their wonderful permanent collection. The gift shop is intriguing and you are guaranteed to find gems here. The Calatrava designed new part of the museum is absolutely breathtaking. Even the underground parking area is something to marvel. What... More

My wife and I were doing a "weekender" in Milwaukee and wandered over to the Milwaukee Art Museum. The museum had a nice variety of interesting collections. I enjoyed the current photography exhibit as well as the exhibit on German Honor Films from the 1920's and 1930's- I forget the actual title! There are also interesting collections of modern art,... A lot of fun and interesting exhibits and a great way to spend a few hours in Milwaukee. Make sure you have your walking shoes on, there is a lot to see. Watching the wings open and close is very cool. Fairly priced admission.

German Expressionist Cinema at its finest, displayed in thought provoking visual displays of actual film clips ( on screen) and drawings and sketches by the set designers. Each film a visual feast of art in which the story is acted out. Expressionist renderings so acute they make the participants on screen and off, uncomfortable. Really a must see "Wow" exhibit....
