Nice tribute to General Mitchell located in the main terminal at the airport. It doesn't take long to read through the material there and its worth the time if you have it to spare.

Stopped in, spent 20 minutes perusing aircraft models, information on Mitchell, Lovell and others, as well as getting an insight of how the airport has grown since the 40's. And it is free!

Great displays about the life of Gen. Billy Mitchell. Not from the area, we spent nearly an hour learning the history behind this man. Even our 8 year old was intrigued and will follow up with a book of his own.

I can’t say that I’ve seen too many museums located directly inside an airport, but this one is a fun little spot if you’ve got 15-20 minutes to burn before a flight. A well-curated room walks you through the history of Mitchell Field from its...More
