Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very nice visit here. The gardens are well maintained and the admission fee was minimal. While the gardens are not huge, the tie to children's books would make this a super place to visit with children in the 4-9 range. If we had come with our grandkids, this would have been a 5 star rating. But it is fun hour even for adults.

It's a beautiful garden full of hidden and magical treasures. Amazing place for small children. An amazing place and worth every minute.

This was well worth the long drive from Madison for a day trip. My kids could have played there for days, getting lost in all the well-loved children’s stories that are depicted in the gardens. Their favorites were Laura Ingalls Wilder’s cabin and covered wagon, The Three Bears woods area, and the sensory friendly herb garden. Bring a picnic- there is a great picnic area right by the Magic Schoolbus. We may make this an annual trip!

Bookworm Gardens is such a cool experience! We spent about an hour here with our 2 children (ages 7 and 12) and their grandparents. Everyone enjoyed the beauty of the flowers and flora. It was just magical. Discovering which book each display was tied to was added fun, especially since I am a kindergarten teacher. The only disappointment came at the end when I want to buy a few souvenirs only to find that the cart with all the goodies on had been put away due to pending rain. I totally understood but when I inquired about seeing a few things I was told it wasn't an option. Super bummed but what can you do. Guess next time I'll buy right away!

We stopped here on a recommendation from a family member and we were happy we did! The gardens were beautiful! The hands-on displays were a lot of fun. And you can sit in Winnie The Pooh's house! What's not to love?! A few caveats: there are no concessions on site, so eat beforehand. And the merch is very limited and very expensive. Just go for the beauty of the flowers and the displays and you'll love the place!

The garden was easy to walk. Keeps up with short attention spans and yet entertains adults. The plants and gardens themselves are at all heights for all to enjoy. The picnic garden is a special treat.

Nicely curated series of garden rooms, and well maintained. Special nighttime event was advertised fir later than our visit. Designed for kiddos but the book themes are pretty timeless

If you have children in your life, or if you just enjoy plants and children’s books-this is a must stop. There are over 70 children’s books featured in the garden. Lots of hands on things for kids. Admission cost was minimal, staff was helpful. Definitely recommend!

About how much time should someone expect to spend here? Specially with a 3 & 6 year old.
Are there any wheelchairs available for use for disabled?

I'm sorry, I've never seen any. There's steps going into the main entrance; you'd have to go around the bus to enter. The ground isn't the smoothest in many areas. I've gone with a stroller, but you'd probably have to stay on the path with a wheelchair. I would just call to see the best way to enter or if they supply them.
