A Great State Park

I have been to Pattison many times over the years. As a youth I enjoyed swimming and camping. Now I enjoy the hiking trails, water falls, and Autumn colors.

We were just a bit early (October 2-4), but the hiking was great. Camping is great this time of year in Minnesota- no mosquitos, not hot and muggy, crisp cool evenings.

Extra special state Park. Clean and well maintained. The views are breath taking with great observation ledges. Good walking trails.

This is an amazing place to go to see. There is a lot of walking but well worth the walk especially if you enjoy falls.

On a recent visit to Duluth, MN, we decided to drive over to Superior, WI to visit the highest waterfall in the State of Wisconsin. We purchased a pass that allowed us to visit both falls, upper and lower, over a two-hour period. Plenty of time allotted to do just that. Beautiful park, nicely maintained walkways to the viewing areas.

Above normal rainfall made my recent visit to this BLACK RIVER waterfall especially exciting! Wisconsin's largest waterfall is just down the road but in the same Pattison State Park. Picnic areas abound, and the campground fills every summer. Great swimming! Clean, fresh water at all the drinking fountains are a welcome sight after trekking the hiking trails. So much history... This is a wonderful park at all times of the year. It's also quite quiet, and not crowded. I would especially recommend a walk around the lake during the fall, when the leaves are turning.

Had the chance to camp at this park after hearing many good reviews. The campsites are clean, shady and level. Great hiking, clean bathrooms, beautiful waterfalls

Travelling through the northern United States on our way to Western Canada, we stopped overnight at Pattison State Park. I had stayed there once before, about ten years ago, and remembered it as one of the nicer campgrounds I had ever stayed in. This time it was still very nice. It features large private campsites. The washrooms were not in... More

We have stayed at Pattison State Park 5 of the last 6 years when we vacation in the North Shore of Lake Superior area. The campground is very clean and well maintained. Park staff is friendly, as are the campground hosts... same couple every time we have stayed there. The showers are very nice for a state park, and are... More
