Great place to visit. Such great modern architecture from a model around the 1960's themed home. Reasonable prices/rates.

This is # 1 attraction in Two Rivers
Oct 2019
How this is not top rated on Trip Advisor is ridiculous- this is a Frank L. Wright house!

We had a great visit led by a docent and the owner of the home.

About 20 people on our tour- no problem accommodating all of us.

Read all the other reviews- then come and visit- a real thrill for architecture buffs

Tour of Frank L. Wright house
Sep 2019
Wife and I have toured a number of Wright’s homes, this one Unique because we were actually allowed to sit on the furniture, 🤗 the tour guide was very Informative about the home and Mr. Wright. She has a copy of the Life Magazine it was written up in.
The main floor was (my opinion) very attractive being so open, but second floor had small bedrooms but each had a outside deck .. agreed with tour guide that Mr. Wright was revengeful when asked to change a design THUS a bathroom with the toilet in the way so you couldn’t open the door properly. Overall interesting tour 👍

Unique house
Jul 2019
We stayed her with 2 other couples in July. The house is very unique and has lots of interesting things in it, but it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep here. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, but only 2 of them have windows or doors with screens. The house is not air conditioned, and the week we were there had above average temperature and humidity. That made for lousy sleeping, especially since the beds were full sized and not queen sized. The bedrooms were really tiny too. The whole house has a wonky smell to it which set off my allergies like crazy. Maybe if I would have stayed here in cooler temperatures when it would have felt good to have a fire in the fireplaces I would have a different opinion. Interesting place to visit, but I doubt I will come back here again.

We've found the Wright way to live!!
Dec 2018 • Family
We've seen dozens of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings over the years. With each of those houses, there always seems to be an intimate story or two about Frank and his relationship with the house and/or the clients. There is always a Frank story! The
Bernard Schwartz House is no different and has its own stories as well (you'll have to ask the owner about a story when he greets you for your stay!)

My wife and I, along with our 13-year old son, rented the Schwartz House for two nights in December. Upon entering the house, we noticed that this Wright home was in great condition and as good as any Wright house we have ever toured or seen. The owner(s) obviously are treating the home with the tender loving care that any piece of art deserves. Though we were only renting the home for a couple of days, we were encouraged by the owner to make it OUR home during our stay.

For this review, I can only describe our experience as we lived it - less detailed perhaps than most reviews, but we don't need to rehash other reviewers as we agree with most of them already.

Understand that normally, touring a Wright home is pretty awesome and all, but most of the time you are spending just a minute or two in his great spaces before the docent is heading you off into the next room or space. However, living in a Wright space compared to seeing a Wright space, is like comparing apples to oranges.

This house has a peace and serenity to it that we have never before experienced in our lives. Did we step into a time machine and go back almost 80 years? Maybe. I think it is more likely, however, that we experienced the "Wright" way to live. That is, the architect envisioned the house and spaces to be lived in in a certain way; and by his use of space, varied ceiling heights and beautifully designed clerestory windows, (among others architectural qualities) he "suckered" us in to living the way he wanted us to. The house calmed our senses, forced us to slow our lives down and urged our family to spend the quality time together.

I read a newspaper for the first time in over a decade in front of the fireplace; my wife cooked a delightful meal and the three of us sat down at the dining table - at the same time - to eat a meal together. Can't remember when the last time that had happened. We talked about what we loved about the house while we listened to Beethoven's Minuet in G. Brahms, Bach and Mozart, among others, filed the space and was undisturbed only by the crackling from the fireplace and our intimate conversations.

We started taking pictures with our camera, looking for that perfect photo to remember our stay and the memories from it. We'd then discover another angle that might make the photo even better. Essentially for two days, we explored every angle, every space and every detail in our quest to find that perfect photo that tells the world, "We stayed at Frank Lloyd Wright's Schwartz House".

We've looked through our 150+ photos, and found that we did indeed, get the perfect photograph after all. Turns out, it is each and every one of the pictures we took.

Whether you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright or not, this home is a must stay. "Thank You" will never be an appropriate acknowledgement to the owners for sharing this gift of architecture with us. We consider ourselves blessed and are very grateful for their kind generosity.

We've have now experienced living the "Wright" way - Bucket List item, check.

Unique place to stay
Oct 2018 • Couples
We stayed for a weekend to celebrate a wedding anniversary.

It was weird to pull up to this house, after driving through a residential neighborhood.

The inside of the house it pretty nice. It feels authentic. My wife was complaining that some of the woodwork was scratched and scuffed, but to me that was part of the charm.

There was a large “parent’s” bedroom on the ground floor, which had it’s own bathroom. Also on the main floor was a kitchen, dining room, Rec room, and second bathroom. There are two fireplaces, but only one was operational.

Upstairs had three small bedrooms, one with it’s own half bath, there was also a full bathroom, but the door didn’t open fully because the toilet was in the way. The storyline is that it was due to a design change requested to accommodate a linen closet in the bathroom,

The house is decorated with period furniture and decor.

There are several patios outside. The property sits on a river, and there are stairs down to a small dock.

If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, staying here is well worth it. If not, there are plenty of other, newer, properties to choose from.

There is not much to do in two rivers.

Wonderful visit to a FLW "Dream House"
Jul 2018 • Friends
I toured this house while doing the Wright in Wisconsin trail. For $15, the owner himself gave us the tour. The interesting back story is that Frank Lloyd Wright published plans for a dream house in Life magazine, and the winning family couldn't get financing for his plan! Along came the Schwartz family, and they used the plans instead. The house is perfectly restored. It is available for tours, but also as a rental! In fact, three of the other people on the tour were the lucky ones spending the night. This house is in a neighborhood, so parking is tight, We stayed for around 2.5 hours, mostly because it is such a lovely property and the owner's stories about the house were so interesting. This is a must do for FLW fans, but anyone who likes interesting houses would enjoy the tour. I wouldn't bring very young kids,

Lovely weekend at Still Bend, the Ben Schwartz House
Sep 2017 • Couples
My parents and I had a wonderful two night stay at Still Bend. We enjoyed the changing light during the different hours of the day and took many photographs. The ground floor master bedroom was perfect for them.
We especially enjoyed cooking an Italian dinner in the kitchen, a great way to feel at home. And many thanks to Michael and his impromptu tour at our arrival.

Still Bend is a spiritual space created by a iconic and gifted architect. Michael shared personal stories about the Schwartz family and Mr. Wright. What a uplifting experience, exceeding all expectations. Thanks for sharing this glimpse into the incredible vision of FLW.
