I have done this canoe trip 3 times. Once while in my late teens, once in my twenties, and now in my 30's with my young teen with me. Every time the trips starts out, I ask myself why am I doing this. The river is shallow, you will hit rocks, trees, etc. along the way. Expect to be frustrated... More

We used Ding's dock to rent a canoe. The river was way too rocky. Our horrible, crummy, cheap canoe tipped countless times. We rammed into rocks several times because they were all over the place. Canoe tipped and all of our stuff went floating down river. Couldn't wait to get out of there!! Staff never told us the river would... More

the Crystal River is a beautiful river, but most folks access it through Ding's Dock. Ding's dock rents these crummy little fiberglass canoes that will leave you itchy. The river itself is very shallow in places and most folks end up dragging their canoe it parts. I think the trip down the Crystal River is really for the young. I... More

this trip is in very light weight fiberglass canoes, that are best for one person or two light weight people. the trip is a beautiful easy course though woods and well-maintained yards. Plan to get wet sometimes when you spill or get out to walk around obstacles.

First of all, I grew up in the area, so I knew what I was getting myself into in terms of the Crystal River Canoe Trip at Ding's Dock. For anyone new to the experience, it's a three hour adventure down a very shallow, rocky river in the tippiest, rattiest canoe imaginable. You will smash the canoe. You will tip... More

This is a fun outing, but you will get wet from the get go when you have to jump out of the boat to get in your little canoe. The river is shallow and very rocky. You may even have to walk your canoe. If you are a serious canoer, this trip is not for you. You will probably tip over... More

Beautiful area! Did a 2 hour kayak trip on the Crystal River. River was up so the current was strong which made for a fun adventure. Remote feeling - not a lot of houses around the area we paddled. There were many obstacles to navigate so it's not just a sit and float kind of trip. We used Adventure Outfitters... More

First off, I asked if we should get a 3 man canoe because I'm almost 300 lbs myself. We were told the 2 man would be fine. It was suppose to be a fun dad/daughter afternoon and ended up with my daughter pretty much hating me when we were done. We spent so much time in the water because anytime... More
