I've been here a couple of times and I am amazed at how each time is different from the last. The animals are well cared for, the area is so peaceful and the experience is never the same. The business makes the experience accessible to people who chose to walk, ride in carts, or a combination thereof. People may interact... More

Never felt closer to the animals, great setup - not a concrete jungle. Golf cars were fun to tour especially since we had a few who wouldn't have been able to walk the entire thing. Fun to feed the animals, we mix at the zoo (one bucket was enough to share between 8 of us) also brought celery and apples... More

I've been to Shalom Wildlife center a couple of times. It is very nice, affordable, and no crowds to fight with, and it's a good walk (you can rent golf carts if not able). The only con is, that it's mostly gravel, so if you have to push strollers or anything it may be an extra workout!

Shalom is certified as a zoo, but there are no concrete barriers, moats, and artificial shrubbery separating you from the animals - only a barely noticeable fence. You may have to wait and look carefully to see the animals, because they roam in large portions of Wisconsin woodland, and may be naturally camouflaged! But how exciting to spot them and... More

Amazing sanctuary for wildlife. I have visited the Shalom Wildlife Center a few times this past year, and each time different animals came out to say hello. The best time of the day to visit seems to be later morning and on cooler, overcast days. And the opportunity to feed the animals to get such an up close view of... More

Great family experience. Took eight year old grandson and he wants to go back. Unique animals in natural settings. Painless learning experience for all.

We heard of this wonderful place from my father who is in his 80's and after his glowing review decided to have a special day there with our grandchildren. The kids were excited and easily walked the trails. An unexpected "bonus" was searching for hidden pumpkins scattered throughout the property with little prizes for the kids inside. The animals were... More

Nice to visit an area that you have the opportunity to feed some of the animals. Can spend hours walking the area but if you prefer, they have golf carts for rent which will get you through the park in 1 and 1/2 hours. Fun time with or without children. Interesting.
