We went for a moonlight guided walk through the park - it's hard to know that there's even a park here. You have to walk through a gap in the woods and follow the path. It takes you past a variety of effigy mounds. Thanks goodness they were not destroyed!

In the middle of a subdivision in Whitewater you can find Effigy Mounds. We found it difficult to find. There is a sign for the mounds, but you see just green space and not much letting you know the treasure that is hidden behind the greenery. One must venture out and take the chance to find what is there. Once... More

This park is a beautiful little hidden gem in town, easy to get to and easy to explore. The signage around these authentic Native American mounds could be better, but they are clear and informative. It is a calm, and quiet location

Trails adequate over the Indian Mounds, very quiet site, only street parking, no restrooms or benches, not a picnic area. Reasonably maintained by the City of Whitewater.

What a find! To stumble upon a sacred site so well preserved and so valued in the community! The trails are lovely and well marked. The sites are marked with a detailed description of each mound and how it fits into the rest of the site. Definitely worth a visit.
