Worst experience EVER
Jul 2021 • Family
We’re on our 2nd night here currently on 7/20/21 but this has been the WORST experience at any resort we’ve ever stayed at and we travel A LOT!
1. FYI indoor water park and amusement park are currently closed so unless you look VERY carefully at the small print before booking with their “50%” off be aware of that because this is a resort that’s also open to the public so it’s super crowded and long lines and very crowded!
2. We booked a cabana for the two whole days being here with another family we came with and unless you use a computer to book (not a phone) they don’t allow to add another person to be able to check in besides the only one that booked it. Wow was that a hassle even though I went and spoke with them the night before and they told me to call the front desk to add a person so I did call the front desk and got the go ahead to let them check in for me since they were going to be there before us. Well because who I spoke with at the front desk didn’t enter that into the notes they made it a huge deal and wouldn’t let them into the cabana (these cost between $250 and $290 a day!) so not worth it! Also our cabana was dirty and the only one without the 6 towels (which also doesn’t make sense when you can have up to 8 in each cabana) and then argued with us that they were there (I had to tell her look at our cabana, do you see ANY of your towels because we’re not about trying to even want or steal them!) She came back with 4 towels and said I can only give you 4 since there were already 6 here. She had been there since the other family with us checked in and we were the earliest family there so how could she not see this? I had to tell her to stop arguing with me because she has no place to do so and none of us were drinking so they had absolutely no excuses to argue with us! They absolutely like to argue with you so there’s another FYI so definitely NOT customer service friendly!! I mean why would they not want to argue when you’ll get charged an extra $20 per towel 🤦🏼‍♀️
3. Do NOT get a room in a high traffic area or below 3rd floor if you want to get any sleep. We had to call twice the first night at 3am due to thumping and running from the room above us and again now once so far tonight at 11pm. In all honestly I WILL NEVER stay at this place again!! Rant over..

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! First off its a scam with 50% off room rate. The room IS half off but you get charged an additional $84 per night "resort fee". 2nd you have no idea where your room will be. Site claims 5 min away. That is not walking. That is get in your car, try to go out on main road, and park far away. Indoor water park closed. Half out outdoor slides and wave pool closed. Stay in a regular hotel. You can still go to water park/roller coasters for only $10 per person.

So much to do!
Jul 2021
My family of four had a great time at the rides and the water park. The water was colder than we thought it would be, so maybe check common temperatures before you travel? Maybe the water is warmer towards August?
The indoor water park was closed f(or renovations till Summer 2022), but we didn't know that before planning. We might have picked something else.

Horrible!! Half the water park is closed. If you have children over age 5 do NOT visit this park. We paid WAY too much money for my teenagers to do 3 water slides and be bored. Zero stars!!

Wave Pool was awesome !
Jul 2021 • Family
We bought tickets cheap ahead of time. For the prices I paid it was really a lot of fun. Hades 360 was very fast and very rough. Actually painful. My granddaughter loved it though. We didn't even bother riding the others. I didn't want to go home permanently injured lol. The go carts are terrible. They're all run down and terribly slow. One person can barely fit in one leg alone two. Now the water park is great. The wave pool is so much fun. My granddaughter and daughter loved the big wave coming at them. At was insane. We also rode some good slides. The food choices were above average as well. I would Definately do the water park again.

Dont Stay at Mt. Olympus
Jul 2021 • Family
Mt. Olympus hotel and water park are awful, this was a horrible experience for my family. They offer a deal with a discount if you pay in advance - it’s non refundable- this is a scam because they want to rip you off- what they don’t tell you is that at the water park 11 of the 14 slides are closed- the indoor water park is closed and the indoor amusement park is closed. The accommodations are absolutely disgusting- old and dilapidated as was the water park. Our stay for one afternoon and night was $644 - we are so disappointed in our experience. We work so hard for our money and feel robbed after this.

If I can keep one family from booking here, I've done my job.
Jul 2021
Lord, I don't even know where to begin. Let me start by saying any part of the trip where we spent time in the "resort" or park was an absolute nightmare. This was our first time visiting the Dells. In order to keep things PG, let’s just say we were hoodwinked. Unlike other reviewers, we knew the indoor water park was closed ahead of our visit, so that was not a surprise for us. We thought there were enough outdoor rides to take advantage of the "discounted" rates though, and unfortunately booked the stay.

The check in site is located miles away from your room. The 30+ resort buildings are scattered throughout the main drag. Some look really scary, and are true motel-style properties. The building we were assigned was a cross between a creepy youth hostel, insane asylum, and the movie Vacancy. There were no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I'm shocked parents were brave enough to let their kids out of their sight... but that they did. It was a true Lord of the Flies scenario... Kids ran through the hallways, knocking on doors & running away as late as 11pm. Don't count on sleeping in either. The precious angels in the room above us provided daily wake up calls at 6am by running & jumping off of the beds. Also, don't expect anything to be in the room except bare necessities. Tissues are not provided, and neither are dressers. However, if you are a fan of The Office you might get a laugh at the TV... a'la tiny plasma screen with an articulating mount.

Regarding the attractions, don't be fooled into thinking "the bigger the better". The actual park had potential, but the layout is terrible. It's not circular. It runs along the road, so things are more spread out than necessary. The employees look soooo miserable too. And some rules are bazaar. We were told by one lifeguard we couldn’t bring the waterproof GoPro into the pool for fear the plastic case might shatter... yet you’re able to go down slides wearing sunGLASSes? Ugh - insert eyeroll here.

More importantly, the clientele leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't - and didn’t - let my family out of my sight. Instead of proof of vaccination, I feel like people get a discount there if a family member spent time in jail. Could be a little harsh, but I go with my gut.

Case in point, sadly, we learned the hard way there are still terrible people in the world... and they are highly concentrated at Mt. Olympus. My 10 year old son received a concussion and whiplash on a go kart ride after a driver spun out. Everyone stopped except one man - AKA piece of garbage. He proceeded to keep his foot on the gas & rammed into the back of my son's car. As they left their cars and my son was hysterically crying and holding his head, the garbage man proceeded to walk by looking at him and laughing. I know there's a special place in hell for people like that... knowing this will help me sleep better as my son goes through his recovery.

Quite honestly I couldn't imagine any sane person would stay here once they have experienced it. This has gone onto the No, No, Never Again list for my family. Now, all I can hope for is that my review prevents families from pushing that “book now” button at Mount Olympus "Resort" - or park.

Don’t stay at Mt Olympus, but buy the $10 admission online!
Jul 2021 • Family
We stayed at a hotel that gave us free admission to Noah’s Ark Waterpark, but we had extra time and so we thought for $10 a person online, why not try Mt Olympus? It was a good purchase.

We heard terrible things about the Mt Olympus hotels from others we met on this trip. We heard they were dirty, no pools at the sites, and some were a long distance from the park. We didn’t stay in one of the hotels, but if this many people told me about their disappointing stay, it’s noteworthy.

We bought the $10 admission to the outdoor parks online. We knew the indoor facilities were closed and outdoor entertainment was limited, as some features are still closed. Parking said it would be $25 on the sign, but no one was at the toll booths, so parking was free! We rode rollercoasters, go karts, and there were water rides too.

I was disappointed that although there’s a prerecorded message for the go karts about no bumping or you wouldn’t be allowed to ride, nothing was done to enforce this. At the end of one go kart ride, the young boy behind me came into the chute and hit me at full speed, which caused a chain reaction. It was bad and nothing was done. I was surprised to see this happen at the other tracks as well. This really is a danger.

Overall, this wasn’t a great park, but definitely worth the cheap entertainment for a few hours for our family.

Poor customer communication
Jul 2021 • Family
Booked this many months ago but they never stated that the indoor water park is closed, arcade area closed, many water slides are closed, practically a third of the entire park is closed yet I am charged full price. No discount offered. Credit only. Not a good solution when you live 400 miles away. Room is non smoking but someone definitely smoked in it. Overall, I agree with many reviewers, the hotels are not worth it. The park themselves are ok. So much is closed, cannot give an adequate evaluation. One thing for sure, don’t pay up front.
