If you're going to be in Caspar you should really check this place out. I'm a bit of a history geek and was pleasantly surprised at the setup of this regional history museum. Excellent examples of buildings, etc. Admission is super cheap, and this is a great place to spend an afternoon soaking up a little history.

A really well set up museum that follows a timeline through the history of the region. Outside is a recreation (from the 1930s) of the 19th century fort complex. There's not a whole lot to do in Casper, so this should be at the top of your list.

This is a good museum for those interested in western history, the fort, and traveling exhibits dealing with the Wild West. They do special events, also, like the haunted fort tour and the Candlelight Christmas with re-enactors. Overall, worth the visit.

Fort Casper was an army station. I went in the snow to imagine how it look. The museum it self is small but alot of info. The cost is minimal so worth going if you have time. The gift shop has something for everyone, very nice. Coffee mugs are a good price with many selections as well as shirts.

Very well designed back in the day of the old west. Very informative and educational for kids. Great gift shop. Friendly Wyoming employees. Fun programs for kids. Very reasonable pri ed. Lots of summer activities demonstrating how life was in the early 1800's. Family fun for all ages. Camp ground right there. Good ole western cook outs

They have been rated in the top ten for small museums in the US. The fee is minimal. The exhibits change. They have programs designed for all ages, including hands on activities and speakers. During the summer they have a reenactment. Worth stopping. The staff if friendly and helpful.

While the museum is newer and holds expected displays related to the Platte Bridge and Fort Casper region, the gem of this site is the walk thru history fort grounds. Now the buildings were erected of proper style and dimensions on the old fort grounds during the 1930's, they have weathered so well that 99% of visitors THINK they could... More

If you come to Central Wyoming and want to learn the history of winning the West...Ft Casper is excellent! Their displays are well organized in the main museum building and fort itself is amazing. I still am in wonder how our soldiers and settlers survived in the snow, wind and cold of our state. Whether you've got an hour or... More

A very authentic experience right located right in town. A great experience during Christmas as they do a fantastic program of what Christmas would have been like in the fort. Come and see and don't miss the Museum right next door. Worth a visit with the kids or those visiting you in Casper.

A nice spot to stop. The kids (6 & 12) enjoyed looked at the buildings in the fort and walking on the grounds. The indoor exhibits gave a nice look at Wyoming history and life. Worth the time to stop. Overall it took less than 2 hours to see.
