A wonderful place to stop on a road trip, even if just for a few minutes. Well done exhibits on local and state history, from geological formations to the outlaws, railroads and the Lincoln highway. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Admission is free, donations are accepted, and they have a gift shop. Easy access on the I-80 business loop.

We stopped here on a whim and were totally surprised. Loads of western history especially local outlaws like Butch Cassady. The staff was friendly and welcoming as well as informative.

We made a quick stop here while passing through on a road trip. Interesting synopsis of the area's history - from dinosaurs...to the Outlaw Trail...to the construction of railroads and the mining industry. Very informative!

Knowledgable staff and a very interesting and well presented view of local and state history. Nice gift shop and conveniently located on the main through way in town. A free museum dedicated to the preservation and presentation of history and historical artifacts.

This museum's display about Butch Cassidy and his school and working years was very interesting - authentic articles and photos. They even still had parts of the original jail here. Different relatives and associates offered varying opinions about Butch's later years - was he killed in South America or not? The Twin Springs area has a rich international background, and... More

Follow the trail of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid to the Sweetwater County Museum on the Outlaw Trail--also the Mormon Trail, California Trail, Oregon Trail and later the Lincoln Highway connecting East to West. Learn about anti-Chinese riots on the Union Pacific line, the discovery of dinosaurs, the Powell expedition, and the role of strong women in the West,... More

While visiting Green River we found ourselves with some time to kill and stopped at the museum. It was a great stop, wonderful exhibits and great local history. It is worth taking time to visit.

The Museum was really fine. We were surprised we spent over two hours there. We would have stayed longer, but needed to sit down. Very comprehensive.

This museum is definitely on the small side, but it is free (donations are welcome). Though small this museum has so much information about the area and different years in history. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. This would be a place I would return with my family.
