Since 2011 the Laramie Mural Project has worked with local artists and the UW Art Museum to paint a series of large scale murals through the historic district that are reflective of Laramie's cultural and social assets. Take a walking tour of each mural by picking up a guide at the Laramie Main Street Alliance, 207 Grand Ave. or the Tourism Board (Visit Laramie) at 210 Custer. Surprises at every corner!

Love the beautiful murals throughout the downtown area. Some are fanciful, all are colorful and some are just plain fun. The fish one is my favorite.

The Laramie Mural Project is a great way to see some amazing art by local Laramie artists. The murals are amazing and defintitely worth a look when you come to town. Dan Toro has some great ones and the one on the side of the Fox Theatre has a lot of hidden features. Very cool!

In some cities people do grunge street art tours, in Laramie it is worth walking around and doing a Mural Project tour. Stop in some of our lovely shops, drink some good coffee and then head to dinner at a great Laradise restaurant.

Want some nice art? Sure! Willing to pay for it? No way! Okay, let's do it with other people's money. Great idea! And that's what they did. Pick up a brochure at a number of places around town, including the U-W art museum and find a map and list of all the murals. You'll also see that they brag about... More

Thanks for visiting downtown Laramie and the murals. To clarify, only the BROCHURE was created with lodging tax dollars. The murals themselves were paid for by the Laramie Main Street Alliance, a 501c 3 not-for-profit working to revitalize the historic district. More

For the past few years, Laramie's downtown has gone through a significant cultural shift in celebration of local artists. These murals cover many of our historic downtown buildings with vibrant colors and unique stories. Definitely worth checking out if you're passing through town.

...but, I don't think standing and looking at murals can be considered a attraction that takes up any length of time. The murals are really good and the artists clearly talented, but it was not something that consumed any real time.

I find the murals located throughout downtown Laramie to be very interesting. They add a whimsical element to this area of Laramie and it's fun to discover them. I hope the community continues to support this program so the murals can be maintained, updated and expanded. Some depict historic events and places in the area while others make reference to... If you find yourself in Laramie and need to stretch your legs, check out these murals. Some are historic, some whimsical and all are beautiful. My favorite is the Hollyhock Haven at the parking lot on Custer and 2nd. Go to Visit Laramie.org for a map and list of all the murals.

Located near the historic, and still operational, train tracks of Laramie these murals have a cool quirky look. You can grab some food from the nearby restaurants and sit in the park and enjoy the view. If you wander a bit downtown you will see several of these unique murals and get some great photo opportunities. It's definitely worth a... More
