We spent a little time reading the history and enjoying the museum. The actual fort was ok. Most items were being updated an not there. The neat thing was the layout of where buildings stood and how "small" things were compared to today's buildings (i.e....More

We spent several very interesting hours at the interpretive center at the site of Fort Phil Kearny. Well worth it. We particularly enjoyed the meticulously hand-crafted dioramas and the video.

This is a site that any Western history buff will want to see and learn about. Located on the Bozeman trail, this was an important frontier outpost in the 1860s-1870s
