The kids enjoyed jumping off of the platforms and the bay was good for swimming with no threats of waves, sea creatures. There was a nice spot for picnicking. Remember that it rains in Hilo...a lot. Be prepared for that but if you are okay...More
We enjoyed walking over to Coconut Island to see it. You have unobstructed views of Hilo Bay, and we saw many people swimming and eating. You could spend the day if you didn't mind carrying your things across the bridge.

Wow, Coconut Island is a gem! Our hotel was steps away from here so a trek to the island was a fabulous way to start our vacation. The park is clean, quiet and absolutely beautiful. Definitely recommend a stroll here. Very romantic.
