Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great little bit of history. Nice place to take a walk and enjoy the fresh air. Free parking. Trash cans. Places to sit on the lawn and enjoy a snack.

This statue of King Kamehameha is in a park right off the main highway in Hilo. It was a quick stop and fun to see an important figure in Hawaiian history.

We have seen the one in Honolulu so it wasn't new but at the same time it was different. This statue is located in a park like setting which is nice.
There is a parking lot close by, so the walk to the statue is short and level.

There are 2 King Kamehameha statues on the Big Island. Great little bit of history with a nice area for a walk.

This statue, 1 of 4, was sculpted at a foundry in Vicenza, Italy in 1963 but was not installed here until 1997. It was originally slated to be install on Kauai, but as how Kamehameha never conquered Kauai the Kauaians refused the statue and instead gifted it to the Island of Hawaii.
The statue is 14 feet tall and resides in Wailoa River State Recreation Area.

Very easy to get to and a great tribute to King Kamehameha. It was nice to see but not much else to do.

We saw the one that is the original in Kapaau. This one is the same but with differnt background behind it. There is another across from the Iolani Palace in Honolulu also. So if you aren't going to either of those places then stop and take the picture.

Caught the king at sunrise. Beautiful pictures looking out towards the beach. The lighting was good, the clouds were just right.

Impressive statue of one of the past Kings of Hawaii. Urns of fresh flowers were placed at the base of the statue. We came at dusk and it was a bit hard to see it in detail as it is not lit up at night, but it was a grand sight nonetheless.
