One of the few locations with open shops and eateries on Sunday. Right across from the town bus and taxi stand. Beautiful view of Hilo bay. Plenty of parking. Appreciate the benches and chairs for weary tourists. If that building could talk, and tell what it has seen and experienced over the last century!!

Because the building isn't really a tourist attraction I cannot justify 5 stars, but the fact that is survived not one, but two tsunamis that essentially destroyed everything else in the Hilo waterfront, is a testament to the building. Thankfully it was purchased and restored in the 90's and now remains a historic landmark and a reminder, along with all the new buildings surrounding it, the devastation of a tsunami. Bravo to those who built it and now maintain it.
