Just went this morning. I like to support our local farmers and get most of my produce here. They have other vendors here too if you want touristy stuff. Just don't be fooled by the trinkets and clothes that are made in the Philippines. They try to pass stuff off as local but they aren't. Lots of fake shell neclaces... More

If you want to taste a little Hawaii should go there and taste, feel, enjoy. Many farmers tries to sell their goods. Possibility for taste of pineapple jam, or home made cookies. The pearls are really cheap here. Should be aware of not real hawaiien's sellers.

Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Some homemade baked goods were also available and fresh juices. Prices were reasonable.

The fruits and vegetable looked very good, and for a visitor, it was nice to find a place to get good fresh fruits and veggies. Some interesting and uniquely Hawaiian, but they tried to sell you quantities in bags. Not for someone out for a week and cooking at a condo. The crafts were mostly junk. There were a few... More

We were driving through Hilo to see the volcano when we saw a farmers market on the highway next to the bay in downtown. The vendors included artists and fresh food. If you need a place to pick up jewelry, clothing, paintings, glass art, etc, then this is the place. The market is open on Wednesday and Saturday. We went... More

Hilo farmers market is in a great location with plenty of fresh produce as well as local hand made items. Amazing local artists! Baskets, jewelry, knives, and more. The vegetables and fruit were huge. We found a 1.5 pound butter avocado for $1.25. Bought 3. They were heavenly. Also other vegies and fruits were equally as tasty. This was by... More

We felt right at home at the Hilo farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday. Very busy, lots of variety and the produce was fantastic, making us wish we lived here.

I came here in search of breakfast before a day hike in the volcano park - and was stoked to find that it wasn't just fruit&vege- they also had awesome espresso coffee, and little Asian stalls selling fresh home made salads, spring rolls, gyoza, and noodle & rice dishes. So I had a beef pad siew dish for breakfast -... More
