Very good, especially for families with small children

Not super cheap, but a nice museum with great interactive displays. Price of admissions includes a movie in the planetarium.

If you ever need a place to spend some quality time in rainy Hilo, go to Imiloa! Their astronomy/planetarium exhibits are current and topical. The interpretive center is great for every one! Friday night programs are varied and informative.

Lots of interactive displays to engage children. Fairly small but the price includes one planetarium show. After the show, the operator goes over the night sky and what you can expect to see that day, which was really cool. Great view of Hilo bay too.

We viewed to programs in the planetarium. The one o'clock show was Mauna Kea Skies. Very enjoyable and informative. The young lady that narrated and operated the shows was both knowledgeable and interesting. Great show for adults and kids.

The show about our place in the universe was awesome. We saw two shows. The one showing views taken from the Mauna Kea telescopes was incredibly stunning. The exhibits in the museum are great too, lots of interactive exhibits for kids of all ages. I loved how they showcased individual scientists and showed their work and results! We need more... More

You owe you and your family, kids of all ages from 6-99, to visit this great attraction. They cover the Hawaiian cultural beliefs concerning the cosmos and the latest astronomical discoveries. There are some good exhibits and staff have information to share. The problem is that there is little signage so that it is not really clear what you are looking, which direction to go, etc.

Our 3 year old son is really into space right now and so we brought him here. He really enjoyed the kids exhibits about the planets. There is a nice video about what its like on the International Space Station (ISS) which was neat to watch. There was a coupon in one of the tourist magazines that gave us 2... More

We visited a couple years ago, but understand it's still very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits, the cultural sensitive throughout, and the excellent films.
