We had an amazing morning kayak and snorkeling experience with Kona Boys. Small groups (8 persons) and the staff is wonderful. We saw both spinner dolphins and green sea turtles. Our guides Justin and Jallal were perfect guides. After about a 20 minutes kayak ride...More
We went with two couples on the morning magic tour. It was awesome! It was rough waters across the bay but we saw dolphins on the way in and out. Snorkeling was wonderful and the guides Dylan and Jalall were great and very knowledgeable. Highly...More
My husband and I did the Morning Magic kayak and snorkeling tour of Kealakekua Bay. The guys at the shop, where we met to check in and grab our snorkel gear before heading to the waterfront, were great. They gave a nice overview of the...More
The tour was fantastic. Jeff, our guide, was informative and patient and unhurried. There was time for everything. The owner took a fair bit of time with me the day before and taught me how to dive deeper by "popping" my ears as I descend...More
The folks at the shop were helpful and fun. Our tour guides, Will and Justin, were prepared and excited to share their knowledge of Captain Cook, the local area, and island living. We were 3 adults and my 6-year-old daughter with another adult couple in...More

Dylan guided me, my husband and two teens. Great half day excursion. Very chill. Happy to get an early start as the bay got busy as the morning progressed. Good equipment, tons of fish, sadly no dolphins that day.
Kona Boys offer great service. They have easy to sign-up options on-line with all the information needed for your adventure. The guide was great and the reef snorkeling amazing! It was a nice private tour for a family with a great snack included.

There's nothing tricky about the trip to the Captain Cook Monument except the landing area. It's small and hard to notice as you approach. We were on the morning tour and as the day progresses, more people and boats showed up for snorkeling. Also the wind started to pick up in the afternoon. Our guides from Kona Boys were very knowledgeable and helpful. They shared a lot of local history during the trip.

Mahalo for reaching out. We can't recommend the tour for someone with cardiovascular concerns. I can tell you that the paddle is about 2 miles round trip and we go at a relatively easy pace. The drive from Kawaihae to our shop in Kealakekua is just over an hour. We hope this helps, please feel free to give us a call at the shop if you would like to talk more in detail. Aloha.
