This artistically gifted couple have been blowing exotic glass here in Volcano for 20+ years. Their work is staggeringly beautiful and I have been collecting pieces from them for years. Just do it!

We showed up just as the owner/artist was about to leave for the day but she most graciously invited us in to see her work. Inspired by the beauty of the volcanoes around her, there is a wide range of beautiful glass pieces from jewelry to vases and more. Worth looking!

While we didn't see the glass. Lowing in progress, and I'm not sure if this is that kind of a place, we found the owner to be very generous and interested in talking about the process of making the glass pieces in the shop. I do a little bit of work with glass myself (as a beginner) and th shop... More

My husband and I stopped in and looked at the showroom. The couple who own the place and do the glassblowing weren't there that day, but the woman running the showroom was friendly. We thought a number of the pieces were attractive and did buy one to ship home. The dog out front was cute too.

The day was overcast with a light drizzle, so the heat of the furnace where Michael and Misato were firing class pitchers was very welcome. Although they were intent on the work at hand, they were able to chat to explain the process for making glass art pieces. From the working studio to the showroom was only a short distance.... More

The Mortara's are very talented and very pleasant people, both in person and over the phone. Their glass ware is unique and I am most taken with the color combinations. You will probably not find anything like it anywhere else. The prices reflect the quality and uniqueness of the work.

We stopped in this glass shop. Everything was super expensive. The dog that was in the shop was much more friendly that the owners.

Our Red Hat Society club invited two other chapters from Oahu and Maui to join us for a tour and one of the places we visited was 2400 Fahrenheit. There is a beautiful gallery of products of a wide diversity and price. If you are lucky enough to see them in action, it is worth the time to watch the... More

You must turn off of Highway 11 and take a short drive down a side street to get to the shop. The personable owners display their creations in a little room right off their studio. Beautiful and creative art pieces!

Smaller works also available within the souvenir shop at Volcano National Park. Sort of out of the way between Hilo and Volcano, at about the 24 mile marker from Hilo town.
