Stayed in Waikoloa for a week. Took many walks on Anahoomalu Beach. The beach is pretty protected and swimming is great. Lots of turtles basking in the sun and many items of sea life to be found in the tide pools. Beach chairs from the...More

Been to the Big Island twice now. Always have stayed in Waikola Village as we think this is a great place to catch the sunsets and to "watch" the turtles. I say that loosely as they don't do much when they're snoozing on the beach!...More

Beautiful location...if you don't fancy sitting in the sand, try instead dining at Lava Lava restaurant which hovers right next to the beach and offers a wonderful menu and lovely views both for lunch and sunset.

Great beach for snorkeling. Turtles swim right by you on the beach. Ocean sports provides all the water toys at reasonable prices. Palm trees line part of the beach. Good access and parking. Lounge chairs provided at one end of the beach.

One of the best beaches on the Big island. Family friendly, great place for kids to snorkel, and even better to walk along the great sand of the north side to see turtles or walk the path back to the Waikoloa Hilton.

We really loved A Bay. The beach was amazing (at least the part that was accessible). It was under construction while we were there which was a bit frustrating. But we could still get to the beach and loved to just sit out here. It...More

Not sure when this beach will be open. Lava Lava Restaurant is open -- not the beach. Heck out with your hotel before planning a day out here.

Great, laid-back beach that doesn't get too crowded. Palm trees and loungers available (loungers are from the Marriott property at no cost). I've been here many times before and love that there are always turtles to be seen. It can get windy in the afternoon,...More

Anaehoomalu, nicknamed A-Bay, was suggested by our snorkel gear rental company for good, easy snorkeling and a sandy beach. The Waikoloa Marriott is on A-Bay, but as in all beaches in Hawaii, there is public access. We were unable to use the more convenient entrance...More

I do not believe you can on the beach, I don't recall seeing anyone doing so. There is a grocery in the mall coming to the beach. Great fresh foods that will satisfy for sure.

We saw them in the mid afternoon over to the right hand side of the Bay. I was snorkeling there when to my surprise I saw a turtle swimming along about one foot beneath me. I could have touched it. This continued for several... More
