Nice walkable beach

Beautiful beach with lots of covered areas for picnics. A local's beach. Rocks have shells and interesting sea life.

I visited a LOT of beaches on this trip. This was my favorite because it was the least crowded, no hawkers selling crap and just a very laid back vibe. Exactly what I look for in a beach. Plenty of famous beaches if that is your thing. Come here to kick back and enjoy the sand and sea.

We spent a lot of time on many different beaches during our 16 days on Kauai, Salt Pond Beach Park was the only beach we returned to several times. It has something for everyone. Safe areas to swim with gentle waves. Rocky areas great for snorkeling and soft sandy beaches perfect for laying out. It is a lifeguarded beach and... More

We spent an afternoon at the beach here. A couple gals in our group waded in to watch a sea turtle. Most everyone else just sun-tanned for a few hours. The beach was clean and folks seemed to respect other people. Over all - very relaxing.

Salt Pond Park is about 20 minutes away from the Poipu resort area. Head west down Hwy 50 and take a left a Lele road and then follow the signs in. There are washroom facilities on site and a large beach area that seems to be moderately popular with locals and tourists alike. There is decent snorkeling in 2 locations... More

Some of the best snorkeling on the island. the cove over by the airstrip is the better of the two. Fish are really big. Not just the little critters. Beautiful swimming for laps if you want.

Well protected beach for swimming and snorkeling. Good assortment of fish but you have to approach the far rocks of the reef. Fish seem to be more skittish than other Kauai sites. Bathrooms typical for public beaches, minimal and could use some cleaning. Beautiful views

We visited Kauai in November during high surf conditions. This beach was more sheltered from the waves and also has a lifeguard station. We enjoyed snorkelling here and saw a large variety of reef fish. There is a washroom and shower building but no other amenities nearby. Stop at Hanapepe to get food, water and snacks. Have fun and be... More

This beach has good shelter from rough waters so it is a decent option when there are rough waters, especially if you have kids. It's pretty... dumpy, crowded with locals who are 'camping'. The beach and showers are pretty dirty and littered, mostly due to people making this their home. Take the 10 minute drive down the road to Kekaha... More

Easy gentle beach, perfect for learning snorkeling. Too protected for bodyboarding. Saw monk seal and many kinds of fish. Freshwater shower for cleanup. Lovely!
