Great beach, less crowded

We loved snorkeling and relaxing at Salt Pond Beach Park. Ample beach space as it is quiet and hidden.

The beach is very nice, with a shallow lagoon on the left side and some nice snorkeling on the right side. There are showers, picnic tables, restrooms, etc. Kauai weather can vary from one part of the island to the other, so if you want to try a beach on the west side (near Waimea) this is a good one... We came here, curious of the name. The rock formations were quite interesting and made great shots. This is also a very popular spot for locals in the late afternoon.

Big stretch of beach. Also restrooms, showers, picnic areas and grill option. Pretty clean and quiet. Lots of parking available.

One of my favorite beaches on Kauai. Skip the turnoff for the park, follow the sign for the airport. Drive past the heliport to the end of the road. Park next to the beach. If you have small kids the lagoon at this spot is perfect. Enjoy👍

Very low-key beach, with lifeguard - though the cove is protected by a reef so it's already very safe! There are (rudimentary) change rooms, barbecues (BYO briquettes), picnic tables and a couple of shelters. There's usually a taco truck there for lunch, too! Great spot to bring a book and a towel and while away the hours. Snorkeling is poor,... More

Beautiful beach with lots of covered areas for picnics. A local's beach. Rocks have shells and interesting sea life.

I visited a LOT of beaches on this trip. This was my favorite because it was the least crowded, no hawkers selling crap and just a very laid back vibe. Exactly what I look for in a beach. Plenty of famous beaches if that is your thing. Come here to kick back and enjoy the sand and sea.

We spent a lot of time on many different beaches during our 16 days on Kauai, Salt Pond Beach Park was the only beach we returned to several times. It has something for everyone. Safe areas to swim with gentle waves. Rocky areas great for snorkeling and soft sandy beaches perfect for laying out. It is a lifeguarded beach and... More

We spent an afternoon at the beach here. A couple gals in our group waded in to watch a sea turtle. Most everyone else just sun-tanned for a few hours. The beach was clean and folks seemed to respect other people. Over all - very relaxing.
