The Kauai Coffee estate is the largest coffee farm in the US. At the Visitor Center, you have the opportunity to stroll thru our coffee orchard, shop for gifts to take home (shipping is available!), talk to our friendly staff, and of course sample our exclusive line of estate grown coffees. We did not plan to go here, but we passed it while listening to an audio travel guide and it was recommended. We got there just in time - we needed a pick me up (coffee) and it was time for lunch. They served us a great tuna fish sandwich with chips and an iced coffee. It really hit the spot. Then we did the self-guided tour, enjoyed the gift shop, and purchased a few too many bags of delicious smelling coffee! They allow you to taste all you want coffee samples and this coffee is really good. I wanted to go back the next day!

My husband and I attended the “Coffee on the Brain” tour. We found it well worth the $20 each (Especially with the discount afterward). We learned a few new tricks about making the best coffee, and got plenty of time to try all the different coffees. Our tour guide was fantastic, and her love for coffee was apparent. Her passion was contagious. One of our favorite activities!

What a great little find while coming back from waimea canyon. Saw the sign and decided to check it out.
They have tons of free coffee samples, basically any coffee they sell you can sample. You can also take tours of the plantation for free on a bi-hourly basis. While sampling the different coffees you can also check out their museum or get a snack/ice cream from their snack bar.
They have a nice gift shop as well where you can buy a bunch of their coffee as well.
If your a coffee person id highly recommend checking this place out!!

Well, we were excited about the coffee company as we love our coffee! We entered to find it incredibly crowded. We got a sample of coffee, but the older man who was filling the carafe's was short with people and seemed overwhelmed. We went into the small building where there is a counter to get ice cream and see the antique coffee grinders. My husband and myself were the only ones in there at this time. We waited at the ice cream counter for at least 5 minutes while there were at least 5 ppl working behind it and could clearly see us. No one greeted us, but 2 of them put on sweaters and left walking right past us with no greeting or acknowledgement. An older woman was taking a carafe out and finally greeted us with "someone will be right with you". She came back and served us, she was very informal but got us the ice cream. It was very good on a rainy day. No tours due to rain. Best part was on departure the flowering trees outside have hundreds of colorful spiders in large webs right above your head and in your face if you get too close! Did not see them till it was in my face! That was creepy, but awesome!

The Kauai Coffee Company was nice. They were generous with free samples of a variety of coffee blends. There were souvenirs (I’m pretty sure you could buy a coffee mug), snack and food options and lots of coffee for sale. But what made the place stand out for us was the free half hour walking tour. Our guide was a gifted narrator. As we walked among the coffee trees on the grounds, she gave an informative presentation on coffee production in general and on that plantation in particular. She was knowledgeable, interesting and enthusiastic, and answered all questions in considerable detail.

We had a great time. Our tour guide, Susan, was very knowledgeable and you could tell she loved doing it. The tour is $60 per person. But it’s 2 hours and unlimited coffee samples! There were 26 different kinds of coffee samples! Plus, you get 15% off coffee purchases in the gift shop. I enjoyed it very much.

Kauai Coffee Company is a great add-on for a day spent exploring Waimea and the Waimea Canyon. You can spend 15 minutes here checking out the small museum and gift shop, or you can do a leisurely coffee tasing on the deck and wander around the grounds to learn about the Kauai Coffee Company's production process. There is also a small snack bar with drinks and sweet treats. The coffee is delicious. We had a great time, learned a lot and found this spot to be a lovely background for photographs.

This might not seem like a bucket list to visit when you go to Hawaii however I'm a coffee addict. Without coffee in the morning I have a major headache. I went here the Monday before Thanksgiving. That day was also my last day in Kauai. Prior to my visit here I knew Hawaii was the only state in the US that grows coffee beans. What I didn't know prior to my visit was that Hawaii is also the only state in the US that produces chocolate. Even though I was here to know about coffee it's good to know the agriculture of Hawaii.
There's a saying that you should know where you food comes from. In this case it is a drink. I took a free self-tour of this place that lasted about 20 minutes to walk. During the self-tour you will see walking tour signs that shed light regarding the process of growing and cultivating coffee beans. One of the walking tour signs that was intriguing was there are 5 different types of coffee grown at this estate. Besides the walking tour signs there are insights about coffee. One example is a sign that states you should never put your coffee in the refrigerator. I'm so guilty about that.
At the Kauai Coffee Company you can sample shots of coffee. Inside the store you can buy different types of coffee. The workers inside the store were very helpful. When deciding to buy what types of coffee one insight that I didn't know was the darker roasts have less caffeine then the lighter roasts. Besides coffee you can also buy other spices and apparel.
When people think of coffee in Hawaii they think of the Kona Region in the Big Island. This place is the largest coffee estate in the country. If you're visiting Kauai and are a coffee lover come by to Kauai Coffee Company for a sip of coffee.

Very nice self guided tour. Guided tour was sold out (and limited because of pandemic). Was able to talk with a coffee roaster who was roasting coffee at the time. She was very helpful by giving us lots of information on how coffee is grown, harvested, classified, roasted, and tasted. Nice gift shop. Coffee can be tasted and ordered by the cup - but the line was too long. Not much in the museum.

The “Coffee on the Brain” tour at the Kauai Coffee Company with Jenny at the helm was an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours on Kauai. The Kauai Coffee Estate is the largest coffee farm in the U.S. and has more than four million coffee bushes under cultivation. Under the patio sun shade, Jenny demonstrated the best ways to brew a great cup of coffee and how to grind and store our coffee. Happily we got to drink the brew! Then we walked around the grounds and learned how the coffee is grown, harvested and roasted on site. Jenny was a very knowledge guide and answered a myriad of questions. After the tour, we relaxed on the lanai and tasted some exceptional coffee and later claimed our tour discount on a couple of pounds to take home.

We have a senior with difficulty walking any distance. Would there be options for her? Would there be enough for her to enjoy even if she couldn’t do the walking tour?
