Kealia beach is located on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) about 11 miles north of Lihue Airport on Kauai. It has a long parking area right next to and parallel to the highway. The beach stretches for about ¼ mile. There’s generally about 30 yards from...More

This beach definitely has a local vibe to it. Not the best beach to swim in, but it was a perfect spot to relax, get some sun and watch the locals hit the surf.

Really enjoyed watching the surfers. The waves are strong so getting in the water is interesting. I much preferred just sitting back and watching everyone else. Loved that it was not crowded.

It's hard to miss the unending shoreline along the highway with the pounding white water waves. The posted signs say it all, "Rip Tide/"No Swimming", yet only the hearty accept the challenge. It was a great place to sit and enjoy the show and feel...More

A path along the water behind this beach is great for walking or biking. The beach has shelters and a restroom but little shade on the beach itself. There are better choices if you have young children. This is a good beach for surfing or...More

Enjoyed sitting and watching the waves come in. Not a good area to swim where we were. Worth the stop. Good pull off with lots of parking.

Great boogie boarding beach. Wide beach. Soft sand. Easy access. Rest rooms. Not much shade. A few covered picnic tables.

Love this beach, love proximity to restaurants and shops in Kapaa, love the waves, love watching the surfers. But too much plastic and trash has washed up on the beach, large and small. The sand even looks like small pieces of plastic are deliberately mixed...More

Wow, this is the best beach for boogie boarding! We have spent 2 days at this beach and love the waves. Waves here are powerful but if you are strong swimmer you'll be fine! Our 8 year old was bobbing with confidence in the water...More
