Pauellete, the lady at front desk, was so well informed about the canyons and where to go. I am so grateful for these individuals that have the entire state park memorized. The books are curated and the do a great job. I doubt these are books you'll easily find on Amazon, so take advantage. Enjoy the stop!

If you are heading up Waimea Canyon to the vistas or hiking trails stop here for advice and a trail map. It is a small museum but the people here were very helpful in planning our day hikes. The scenery is absolutely spectacular and the hikes range from easy walks to the vista to strenuous hikes, so check things out... More

I went into the Kokee Natual History Museum to ask for some advice on some local hiking trails. The museum was really interesting and fun to look around, and there was a very helpful map I purchased for $3. That said, the woman working at the museum was incredibly rude and unfriendly. She had a really nasty disposition, spoke condescendingly... More

This museum functions as a much needed rest-stop and hikers' info booth, but it is much more than that. The exhibits are well worth a few minutes to browse, and the store has a good variety of gifts and supplies. The staff is very knowledgeable about the various trails and will give you good advice about weather and trail conditions.... More

Located right next Koke'e Lodge this cute and very informative little museum is a nice stop. Take a stroll through the museum, read some exhibit information and check out the gift shop. The ladies in there are super sweet.

A small, modest museum located next to the Lodge at Koke'e. Worth a stop to see the exhibits and browse the gift shop on the way to the Kalalau Lookout.

This is a fine stop along the road up Waimea Canyon. It is a cute little unassuming museum that is nevertheless quite informative.

Driving up Waimea canyon, the temperature begins to cool down. The lushness of the plant life is a sharp contrast to the city of Waimea below. Arriving at the museum, we are greeted by fresh, cooling breezes. The museum is modest in size and scope. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable. A gentleman in line ahead of me bought a map...
