Newly renovated Ocean Course winds its way through mango and guava groves...

Newly renovated Ocean Course winds its way through mango and guava groves to dramatic seaside cliffs and exceptional ocean views. The longest oceanfront golf in all of Hawaii! MSN Travel called the Ocean Course one of the world's twelve most beautiful courses. It's little wonder that the list of accolades for this Jack Nicklaus Signature track is as long as its string of holes that hug the Pacific. The Ocean Course offers the longest and most continuous stretch of oceanfront golf in all of Hawaii. It is a certain highlight of every visit. Recently renovated all 18 holes are in fabulous shape. Future enhancements include a welcoming new clubhouse on the inland waterway overlooking the 9th hole, along with a world-class practice facility. Both promise to take your game, and your vacation, to the next level.

This course, now under new ownership and renamed Hokuala, was recently renovated (completed November 2016). Unfortunately, it is not in good condition. The sand traps hadn't been raked for days - an unforgivable omission for the price. The turf was only in fair condition, with far too many clumps of cut grass and mud everywhere. The day we played, most... More

It's a definite MUST play course on the Island of Kauai. Conveniently located near the Lihue Airport. The staff and Pro Shop are a treat. The bar and restaurant are not inexpensive but what really is in Hawaii, right. It's all there to make a wonderful golf outing. I was able to play twice while I was there and enjoyed... More

This course has the best views of any on the island - the front nine is under maintenance and opening within November. The back nine is the ocean side - incredible views, challenging course.

The new name of the course is Hokuala. It was bought by the Timbers Resort Group and is currently undergoing a renovation on the front 9, so I played the back 9 twice. No problem there as the back 9 is right along the ocean and is stunning. I played this course about 12 years ago and this is my... More

Everything else is the same. Love this course in Lihue. Nice people, good greens and traps. You play the back nine twice. This is like going to a concert and having the warm up group drop out and the headline group do two shows. Ask about the replay rate for a following day. (sometimes yes, sometimes no). Much more scenic... More

We played one round at Hokuala and enjoyed it so much that we played the back nine a second time the same afternoon. The majority of holes on the back nine have incredible views of the ocean. The course is challenging but fair, and nothing beats the views. The course was in great shape and the greens were well cared... More

Easy and wide course. Great friendly staff. Wind off of the ocean is a major factor in club selection. Elevated tee boxes make it fun to try and reach the free on the short par 4s.

This is what I think of when I picture a tropical course--many fairways lining the ocean, amazing views, nice downhill par 3's with cliff drop-offs....between the sudden take-off of a plane just over the trees, the swaying palms, the crashing waves, the beach, the bobbing sail boats, and the baby chicks hiding in the brush....there was always something new to...
