Poipu is a wonderful, kid friendly, laid back beach with a boogie boarding beach for teens and adults at the opposite end of the large grassy area. This small cove is known as Brennecke's Beach and is a fun area but watch out it does have RIP currents, so pay attention to the warning flags. It is not unusual to... More

Beach is really great for fun playing in the water and exploring the natural lava island at the point of the beach! Some shallow protected areas for small children. Watch out for reef rocks underwater, Do Not walk on the reef! Lots of sandy area to swim. Facility's onsite. Restaurants nearby. Parking nearby, get there early for a shady spot!

Really nice little beach, tucked away in Poipu. It's a great place to watch the sunrise, and there are public washrooms available. The morning we walked down, there were 3 sea turtles on the beach!

We've been to Poipu Beach for three Christmas breaks and found it to be a wonderful beach for everyone, including our two young grandchildren ! We've seen the endangered Monk Seal on the beach each time, used boogie boards, gone snorkeling and seen beautiful fish etc. and built sand castles ! What makes it so great is that there is... More

I loved this beach, it was my favorite on Kauai. Swimming was great, even when there's a lot of people on the beach, and a big section is roped off to protect a sleeping monk seal.

This park has 2 very nice crescent beaches. Good snorkeling just off shore. Surfing further out. Onsite restrooms. Good deli and restaurant across the street. Beach equipment rentals available. One day had a monk seal come up to rest on land. Can be a victim of its own popularity. Large parking lots available.

Lifeguards on duty. There is a baby beach area that is protected and an open beach side that has waves! There is usually a seal or turtle somewhere hanging out. the fish will swim all around your legs while you wade in, too!

This is such a great place to start snorkeling! Every time we visit we find new sea creatures! From snowflake eels, urchins, sea turtles, seals, devil scorpion fish, lots of fishes from unicorns and tangs. The area to the left (east) is easier for beginners or if there is a red flag to the west side area of poipu beach.... More

compared to other beaches, this one is average. Good snorkelling apparently, judging by the number of people in the water doing so. Monk seal was on the shore the day we were there. Would be good for little kids, water is not too rough, but it was busy.

This is our favourite beach. Always see seals beached here. Snorkelling is great and just an all round awesome place.
