Once you start on this dirt road at the end of the western part of the island, you will be wondering why you are doing it, but then when you get to the beach you will immediately know why.

Worth the drive of just 4.8 miles which takes about a half hour as you have to avoid the pot holes in the road (road to state park and it's very poorly kept up) But you just can't imagine what awaits you to view and take in. The roar of the waves and the view is just out of this... More

This was my favorite Beach of all the beaches on the Island. It's remote, an adventure just getting there, and has beauty all around it. My only wish is that someone would have a RZR or Maverick X3 rental business at the park entrance. You could ride on the sand dunes, beach and maybe into the hills. Great opportunity for... More

Plan to come early to this pristine, expansive beach on the west side of Kauai, to see the sunset, dance in the final rays of the day to the sound of the surf pounding on the shore... if you're lucky, you might see what we did, whales breaching as the rosy sky illuminated the ocean. Spend the afternoon, have a... More

Yes, this was "off the beaten path" but after the 2.5 mi very bumpy ride (in a Jeep!), we got to enjoy not only the wonderful beach but the actual end of a rainbow! We snapped tons of pics, and have memories to last a lifetime! We saw a newly wed couple (in her wedding dress!)with their photographer capturing some... More

The only way to describe this beach is you have to see it to believe it pictures do not do it justice. The only drawback and it is a big one is the last 4.5 miles is on bumpy dirt road do not drive over 25 MPH. It is very wide most the way but when you are almost there... More

Bit of a drive and the last several miles of dirt road is pretty rough so best to rent a hearty car or jeep, but WORTH the time and drive. Pristine and Natural. So much space and miles of beach you always can find your own spot. Also a great camping place. Plan ahead and bring everything you need though... More

We found this beach via family who spoke very highly of this place. In a 4 day period we went back twice and camped with our hammocks right along the beach. It was peaceful and pretty secluded with only about a dozen people spread out along the entire strip. Outside showers were available and much appreciated after spending the day... More

Hard to tell what I'm thinking about this one, right? I would say that it is such a pretty beach and there is hardly anyone there that maybe it is worth the drive. The reason hardly anyone else is at this beach is because the road out to the beach is terrible. I cannot emphasize enough how bad the bumpy... More

Be prepared for a long and bumpy drive getting there. That in itself is an adventure (around 45 minutes one way). When you get to the beach, it's nice, but there are no facilities. We saw many types of shells that we didn't see at the other beaches we went to. (Don't take them though.)
